"Expecto Patronum!" George shouted, and ran to Marlin. "No. No, no, no, no, no." George kneeled next to his second best friend. "C'mon you've got to stay alive. For Freddy. For me. C'mon Marlin. Open your eyes." He placed his forehead on hers. "Wake up. Wake up Marlin. For your brother. For your grandfather. You've got a family at home. You've got a muggle best friend waiting for your return. C'mon Marlin get up." He cried. He looked into her blue eyes. Empty. George swallowed and sniffed. He picked Marlin up, and placed her over his back, carrying her towards the great hall.

"You have fought valiantly." George froze, and looked straight ahead, pulling out his wand, struggling to hold Marlin with one arm. "But in vain. Every drop of magical blood spilt is a terrible waste. I therefore command my forces to retreat. In their absence dispose of your dead with dignity. Harry Potter I now speak directly to you. On this night you have allowed your friends to die for you rather than face me yourself. There is no greater dishonor. Join me in the forbidden forest and confront your fate. If you do not do this, I shall kill every last man, woman, and child who tries to conceal you from me." George closed his eyes, hoping the best for Harry, and he continued across Hogwarts Campus.

As George Weasley entered the Great Hall, he set Marlin down and spoke to Professor Sprout, informing her of the situation. He then searched for his Marlin's twin brother. "Merlin." He looked sadly at his friend. "There's something you should see." Merlin's eyes widened, expecting the worst. George brought Merlin to the small pallet his sister lied on. "Marly!" Merlin barely uttered and kneeled down next to his dirt covered sister.

"She's still alive…" George mumbled. "However, I hate to say it, but she's better off dead."

"The-"

"Dementor's Kiss." George looked down at Marlin.

"I'll…I'll do it then. I'd rather her be dead than suffer this." George nodded, understanding, and looked towards his family. He smiled as he saw them, but frowned once he realized his mother was crying. "I've got to go." George rushed towards his mother and father, figuring it was Percy who died, but then saw him standing there. He didn't see Ginny, and he started to worry. But as George reached his family, he could feel his heart pounding, and he felt his heart snap. George figured it was so loud that even Voldemort could hear it. "Fred." George couldn't believe it. He closed his eyes and hoped that when he opened them again Fred would be standing up on both his feet, smiling and making jokes about the whole war. However, when George opened them, he saw that horrifying sight again. He still barely processed it, but he kneeled down anyway. There was no way Fred could be gone. That was impossible. He was alive only an hour ago. How could he be gone? George touched Fred's hair. This is some kind of sick joke. He thought. It's just another one of Fred's cruel jokes and he's going to open his eyes. He'll be fine and he's going to laugh at our reactions. He's going to say something like 'you should have seen your faces'. Then he's going to ask about Marlin. And she's going to wake up. And she's going to be fine too. She'll say she's too depressed to let any Dementors feed off of her, and she'll smile, and laugh again. And her and Fred. They'll be fine. It's just…their sick idea of a joke. C'mon Freddy wake up. George finally came to terms with the fact that his brother is not going to wake up. He let the tears slip, and he cried loudly. "Fred." He repeated and held his brother. "Dammit Fred."
