The Meddler Games

Lord Umber has signed Hap up for a series of events for Meddlers. Hap finds a girl in the games from his past. Who is she and what does she want?

Chapter 1

Umber walked into Happenstance's small room.

"Hap," he said. "I've heard about other Meddlers roaming the city. The people have decided to hold the Meddler Games. Do you want to try it?" Hap put the book he was reading on the shelf.

"You remember what happened last time I participated in an event like that," Hap said.

"This is different. Only Meddlers can participate."

"Fine. When are they?"

"Tomorrow. Don't worry, I signed you up."

"YOU WHAT?!"

"I knew you would want to sign up, so I did it already."

"So, why did you ask me? What if I said no?"

"Then you just wouldn't show up."

"Fine," Hap said. The next day, Umber took Hap to training for the Meddler Games.
