Feels Like Drowning by BookNeed007
Percy was having a hard time catching his breath. Here they were, at the bottom of the Lake, his best friend, maybe even more than a best friend. He sure hoped so because if not then there was no way he was about to get away with this.
Making an air bubble around them, he laughed, saying, "I can't believe they are still waiting for us to come up! Did they forget that water is my like, life?"
"No Percy, I doubt anyone would forget that, they just don't know about this particular talent of yours." Annabeth replied, clutching onto his shirt so that they wouldn't drift apart. "I… Seaweed Brain about earlier, you don't…."
Percy cut Annabeth off by crashing his lips onto hers. He was so lucky; she had been his best friend since they were twelve, she had helped him get through the major prophesy. Something he was just now realizing was that he would be completely lost without this girl, and he was so glad that she had initiated this thing. This thing that was leaving him surprisingly breathless. If Percy had to guess, he would say this is what drowning felt like. The fear of falling, not being able to catch your breath. He was just glad he didn't have to worry about that.
Percy didn't want to part, but he was running out of air and he really wanted to look at her face, just in case he had done something stupid again.
"Annabeth I uh I uh. Sorry I've never done this before. I like you though. I think I have for a long time. When I was in the River Styx, I, well uh it was you. You were my lifeline that is."
"Don't think you're forgiven for that yet Seaweed Brain. Just because we have become a couple, don't expect me to just let you get away with everything. Because that will never happen. Now, how about we get back to the top, hmm? I bet everyone is worried."
"I wouldn't want it any other way Wise Girl. But I don't want to go up just yet." Percy said with his troublemaker smirk. As soon as the words were out of his mouth, he leaned in, looked Annabeth in the eyes, and then looked down at her lips before planting his on hers. As soon as their lips touched Annabeth pushed up and made Percy deepen the kiss.
Let's just say, it was the best underwater kiss of all time.
