Finishing Blow
so one day he found her crying,
coiled up on the dirty ground.
her prince finally came to save her -
and the rest you can figure out…
but it was a trick,
and the clock struck twelve.
(well make sure to build your house brick by boring brick
or the wolves gonna blow it down.)
The sound of the rain is crashing around her - sloppy, wet, muddy. She tries to ignore it, tries to pretend she is safe at home, and curls deeper into herself in a desperate attempt at warmth. It doesn't help much. Crashes explode from somewhere in the distance, the only sign of life for miles. This goes on for a long time before silence falls, and then she begins to cry.
It had always been her weakness, crying. She can't help it. It's her way of balancing out her emotions, letting the dam break, and slowly building it back up with every swipe of her sleeve. So by the time she is only sniffling, regaining control, a purposeful stick
snaps.
Immediately she is tense, red-rimmed eyes shooting up to meet those crimson, bloodred eyes of his. She works fervently to swallow, but can't seem to pass the heart in her throat. A name works itself to her lips, but she's too panicked to speak. Terror grips her lungs, squeezes.
"I-I-…"
He smirks down at her, crouches before her like a feral cat, reaching out. Cold, cold fingers caress her cheek; she shivers violently, shies away from his touch. His lips meet her ear, teasing…taunting. "Don't scream, Sakura-chan."
"I…"
He tilts his head, always mocking. "It's not like you to stutter, Sakura-chan." He's too nonchalant – more shaky breaths rattle form deep within her. "Scared? Shocked? Upset that I killed your best friend in front of you?"
She closes her eyes, tight – he'snotherehe'snothereohgod-! "He-he was…" Her eyes open, looking for guilt. For pain.
"Mine too?" he smirks, that lovely, beautiful, sinner's smirk. "A long time ago, maybe. Sakura…we've grown up. I told you once that we're walking very different paths."
"Sasuke…" she whimpers, tries to get him to stop.
"No –kun?" he grins, and the glint in his eyes has her cowering. "Don't you love me, Sakura-chan?" She does, and oh god how it aches to have him so close, have him playing with her, have him sapping her energy. She forces her eyes to the side, tries to get him out of her mind. He won't have it, and a rough hand on her chin has their gazes locked. "You don't?" His head is slanted, mouth angled over hers perfectly.
Her breath catches, sharp. "Sa-Sasuke…?"
Sharingan glares into her widened eyes, wicked. "You're so annoying."
Then his lips are on hers and she doesn't fight it anymore.

Angst, how I love you.
Have I mentioned that? (:
