Law heaves a heavy sigh as he stares up at the college he'll now be attending again. Total downgrade, if you ask him. He can't believe his birdbrained Uncle forced him to come back to this small town, he would've rather stayed overseas in London, preparing for his 4th year at UCL. You know, only one of the top medical schools in the world. The conversation still makes Law grit his teeth and scowl in displeasure… Doffy never listens.
-Flashback to a days ago ago-
"Laaaaw~ you know as well as I do that you'll have a better chance at finding your soulmate here.~" Doflamingo insisted, playfully.
"You already know that I don't give a ratsass about that Soulmate garbage, I could care less about finding my destined one.." Law countered strongly.
"Law you're already 22, most people find their mates in Highschool so I think i've given you enough time to full around. I expect you to be on that plane and back here tomorrow. Corazon and me have already made all the proper arrangements for your future schooling. See you soon Laaaawsy~~.
"DOFLAMINGO DON'T YOU DAR-" Law cuts off, as he hears the beeping for the call being ended.
"Well; that's just fantastic, I'm sure this will be a great time…" He says to himself, as he knows he can't defy that idiot flamingo.
-End of Flashback-
Law knows he's past the age, and has little hope of finding his soulmate this late in the game. The way it works, is you usually find your soulmate right after hitting your final year of middle school, all the way to Senior Year of Highschool. Mates are usually born in the same town, or fairly close to each other, in rare cases they can be born far apart, but are eventually brought together by some weird coincidence. We know when we've found our mates, because a tattoo of their names will appear on the underside of our arms. Like Law's friend Zoro; when he met Sanji through him. Zoro got Vinsmoke Sanji on his left arm, and Sanji got Roronoa Zoro on his right. Their reactions were pretty entertaining, Law smirked remembering the looks on their faces.
As he continues to walk through the halls to his first class, he turns the corner and runs into somebody(quite literally as he is thrown backwards from the force of the person running into him and landing on top of him.)
"Shishishiii~ that was fun," The person above Law chuckles.
Law's first instinct is to throw this weight off of him, and snap at whoever just decked him to the floor. Until he looks up and sees the guy, a kid with big, brown, doe eyes, a scar under the left one, and an overwhelmingly big-toothed grin to top it all off, staring down at him cutely. Law continues to stare at him for a few seconds, until he feels a little bit of a searing pain on the underside of his right arm, which causes him to scowl.
"Sorry for running into you~ Shishishii I was trying to escape a lecture from that annoying guy, Akainu." The kid chatters while continuing to sit on top of him, making no signs of getting up. Law feeling like he has to stop this now, before he snaps at the boy.
He gently pushes the boy off his lap, and notices a straw hat on his back in the process.
He then helps him stand up with him, "It's fine but you should really watch where you're going next time Strawhat-ya," Law cautioned and gave the boy a once over in case he was hurt.
The boy was wearing the strawhat on his head now, paired with a long-sleeved red hoodie, a pair of blue jean shorts, and old-fashioned sandals. After, Law made sure he was okay, he turned to leave, and walk to his class. Which, he really should be getting too soon, but he was aware of the kid following him.
"My name is Monkey D. Luffy by the way! What's yours?" the kid asks while walking with him.
"Trafalgar Law" He figured he might as well humor the kid until he reaches his class.
"Traa..Tor...Trafla...Torao! Shishishii~ Nice to meet you, Torao! I'm glad I got away from Akainu, since he's such an annoying guy, but I'm glad I met you, since you seem like a good guy~" Luffy continues talking all the way to my class and I was glad to finally be here since he was getting on my nerves. If he couldn't pronounce my name then he should've just called me Law but I decided not to bother since it would've been a drag and it made him feel strangely warm inside.
"Well Luffy-ya this is my class." Law states as he points to the door with the plaque that reads: Professor Smoker.
"Ahhh So you have Smokey as your teacher! You must be a 4th year then Torao~ Guess I'll see you later!" Luffy grinned widely, and waved to Law, as he walked to his next class he'd assume.
Luffy was on Law's mind for basically the entire rest of the day, which was very unusual for him. He only gave other people a passing thought, if they weren't useful to him. Well, except for his childhood friend Bepo, but that was different, since Bepo practically glued himself to Law throughout the years, and that's how their friendship formed.
Though, he knows that if Bepo ever tried to call him by anything other than 'Law' or Trafalgar he'd skewer him with Kikoku - the sword his father got him when he went overseas for a trip one year. Shaking his head of that, his thoughts went back to Luffy. He figured the strawhat boy must be a first year, since he didn't look like he could have been any older than eighteen. Law's got to admit though, that the kid was pretty cute, but also appeared to be naive and trusting from the way he just followed Law and talked to him. That probably got him into trouble Law guessed.
Law didn't even realize anything had happened until he got home and took his long sleeved black jacket off. He started to hang it up which also gave him a view of his right arm…
"WHAT THE FUCK?!" Law shouted out loud, freaked out about the new tattoo that he now had. It read: "Monkey D. Luffy."
"Laaw why are you yellin-" Law looked over to see his adopted father, Corazon, stop mid sentence as he realized why Law screamed and was staring at his arm. Then after a few beats he broke into his signature wide - borderline creepy with that makeup - grin.
"Law! You met your Soulmate!? Oh my god! That's huge let me take a lo-" He gets cut off again as he trips over nothing and falls flat on his face while trying to approach him. Same old dad Law thought and smiled a little despite his situation. Corazon recovered relatively quickly and rushed over to check out the tattoo.
"Monkey D. Luffy… Huh. That's funny since you also have a D. initial Law. But I'm so happy for you! I thought I'd never get grandkids at this rate. Ohhh and the wedding~" Corazon continues excitedly talking about things that shouldn't even be thought of right now.
"Cora-san… this just happened and I don't even know how this could have happened." Law mulls over all of this and is starting to get a stress headache.
"Well you just have to accept this Law, it's destiny. The tattoo proves that. Now you just have to tell me about this boy~" he demands.
"I only met him today so I don't know much but here is what happened…" After Law explains and Corazon stops laughing about him being pushed down, we continue to talk.
"Well he sounds like a nice kid. I can't wait to meet him! Now Law I expect you to follow through with this willingly! He says in his rare fatherly tone. "Even if you don't it'll still happen~" Corazon chuckles just thinking about this shaking up his calm and collected son, he gets up and leaves the room with that final sentence hanging in the air.
Law sighs just thinking about the strawhat wearing boy and already knows this isn't gonna be easy. Since it's easier to work then think about this depressing situation he decides to just study for the rest of the day and think about things tomorrow.
Luffy thinks about the tall and handsome man he met today. He was pretty surprised to come home and find a tattoo on his left arm reading: "Trafalgar D. Water Law." It was longer then what Traffy told him but still got it. So Torao must be his Soulmate! Luffy smiles happily at finally meeting his mate.
He is happy that Ace isn't here right now because he'd make a big deal about it, knowing his huge complex. Luffy sighs audibly just thinking about that. So he just shoves it from his mind and goes to the kitchen for meat. As Luffy walked into the kitchen for his favorite he realized he unfortunately forgot about a brother.
"Hey Lu, you should've said something if you were here!" Sabo chided as he walked by Luffy to grab a cup. He glanced over and noticed Luffy was trying to hide his arm.
"Luffy, what are you trying to hide?" Placing the cup down Sabo approaches Luffy to look at whatever he's hiding. Luffy, figuring it'll just be easier to show Sabo, lets him look at his arm. Sabo stares for about 10 seconds straight with an unreadable expression as always. Luffy waits a beat and wonders if he should say anything until Sabo says something completely unexpected.
"Wow that name sure takes me back. Huh. So Law is your soulmate meaning he's back in town." Sabo smiles fondly at childhood memories and goes back to getting a drink. Luffy just looks at his older brother in shocked silence, wondering if he just heard right. Sabo knows who Torao is? He's not mad even though he's just like Ace only slightly less with his complex.? Sabo looks over and realises Luffy's confusion and explains.
"I've known Law since we were in middle school through our mutual friends. He's a pretty cool guy once you get to know him so don't worry Lu, I definitely approve of him. I'm just glad you didn't get somebody like Cavendish for your soulmate. Him I definitely would've killed." Sabo smiles his wicked smile and I know he isn't joking. Whew one brother down and one to go.
"You're actually lucky that your tattoo appeared so quickly since it takes a few days or weeks. Koala and I didn't know about it until after a week. Ace and Marco's didn't appear until the next day. They say the stronger the bond between your souls the faster the tattoo appears. Do you remember how long it took?" Sabo questioned as he pours water in his glass. Luffy thinks and remembers that he did feel an odd pain while he was on top of Torao to be exact.
"Shishishi~ yeah I remember feeling pain right after making eye contact with him" Luffy talks while he eats a giant serving of meat it one bite. Sabo shakes his head but continues the conversation hoping his little brother doesn't choke.
"So that means your souls must have bonded right when your eyes met. I'm really happy for you Lu. Make sure to bring him over so I can talk to him soon." he finishes as he walks out of the kitchen with his glass. Luffy can already picture how that talk is gonna go since Sabo changed his tone at the end. He already feels slightly bad for Torao but also finds it funny.
As Luffy finishes up his meat he figures he'll go see Torao tomorrow so they can figure out their relationship. He's glad though since Traffy is pretty hot which Luffy doesn't usually notice since he's not into all that stuff, since he doesn't really understand it. He feels like he's gonna have a lot of fun with him and feels strangely bubbly and excited. Luffy can't wait until tomorrow.
Aaaaand Law is already dreading going inside of the school, thinking he'll see Luffy right away and isn't ready for the annoyance that's just ready to pounce on him. Law continues to walk but hears gossip that he tunes into when he hears something interesting.
"Yeah did you guys hear what people are saying?"
"I know it's crazy! It's all over school. They say the Strawhats 'captain' has been soulbonded! And he was totally cute too"
"I just wonder what the rest of his crew are gonna say when they hear about it! I bet it'll be pretty entertaining to watch"
"I bet, since all of them are pretty overprotective of their cute airheaded captain… Especially his first-mate and their cook. "
The group of girls chuckle and walk past Law. Damn. Word travels fast in this town. But Law wonders what the girls meant by crew and feels something ominous with that. Although he doesn't think about it for long when something jumps on him and he almost falls on his ass once again. Thank God he caught himself at the last second. After assuring he was steadyed he looked down to see… Luffy clinging to him smiling and he gets a warm feeling in his chest just staring at Luffy's face and tingles where Luffy is touching.
"Torao!~ Can you believe we are soulmates! Im sooo happy shishishi~." Luffy shouts pleasantly still hanging onto Law with his arms now wrapped around his neck. Law was about to put his arms around Luffy and smile despite himself, until he hears chatter behind him. Right. We are still in the front of the school and probably being stared at right now. Law figured they should probably take this somewhere else so he just retracts Luffy's hands from his neck and puts him down.
"Luffy-ya let's go somewhere else and talk about this." Law doesn't wait for an answer and just grabs Luffy's hand and drags him to the back of the school. He tries to ignore the pleasant tingles running through his body. By just touching his soulmate and how being near him brings an unexpected warmth that he's never felt before, and he might just get addicted to it. They reach the back of the school and look around. It's usually always deserted and is today as well. Law walks over and sits down on the grass and leans against the wall and gestures for Luffy to do the same. Instead of sitting across from Law though he just plops down right next to him, leaning against his right side. Law just inwardly sighs but accepts the warmth Luffy brings him.
Law looks down at Luffy to see him staring deeply up at him with excitement and nervousness in his eyes. Law smiles at this unintentionally and catches Luffy move his eyes to stare at his lips and hears an audible gulp. Law's still lost in Luffy's face when talking snaps him out of it.
"Sooo Torao, you are okay with us being soulmates right?" Luffy asks with hope in his eyes and a twinge of fear in his voice.
Any thoughts Law had of denying this were immediately expelled and he just pulls Luffy and positions him so they are across from each other, still close though as there both crisscrossed.
"Yes, I'm alright with this Luffy-ya and hope I'll make you happy." a hint of a blush rises up to his cheeks at the words he's saying and he looks away. Luffy sees and thinks Law is adorable and flashes his signature grin and laughs happily.
"Shishishi~ Torao, you look sooo cute when you blush~!
"Luffy-ya I..I do not blush." Law fumbles slightly and smirks when he thinks of getting back at Luffy. Not giving it a second thought Law leans in and kisses Luffy, touching his cheek.
Luffy surprised at first freezes but after a few seconds leans into Law's hand and kisses him back. Law licks Luffy's bottom lip asking for entrance and Luffy complies as a small moan leaves him. Law enters and wastes no time in exploring Luffy's mouth, running his tongue along Luffy's and his body heats up in excitement and pleasure. Luffy whined when he felt Law pull away all too soon. Law chuckles when he sees Luffy's expression in a pout and the red tint of his cheeks highlighting his face.
"Who's blushing now Luffy-ya?" Law smirkes while teasing and pulls Luffy into his lap and wraps his arms around him, so his back is resting against Law's stomach. Law isn't usually like this but figures it's because it's Luffy. Both boys completely forget about class and just talk to each other about their find that they are 4 years apart - Luffy being eighteen and Law being 22. They talk a little bit about their families but it quickly moves onto friends.
"Oh right! Torao, you just have to meet my crew. They've been asking since they found out about the tattoos." Law remembers hearing about a crew and doesn't know why he feels like this isn't going to turn out good.
"You're crew?" Law questions regardless about the ominous feeling.
"Yeah shishishi~ Nine people in total. I'm the Captain! They are all really great and I'm sure they'll love you."
"What meet them like right now? School isn't over, their probably in class." Law ventures trying to get out of this but Luffy smiles.
"Nah its fine I'll just call them and they'll come. They'll all arrive quickly since I'm asking." Luffy smirkes then laughs and says "Well most of them since he'll probably get lost." and shakes his head smiling while thinking about his crew. Law realizes there is no getting out of this and just accepts it. Law is still worried about meeting his 'crew' because he keeps getting odd vibes but knows that he'll be okay as long as Luffy is by his side… or at least that's what he hopes.
