I apologize in advance for any wierd typo's or other mistakes... I rushed through this a bit, but I'll try to edit it once I'm further into the story :)

Prologue:
Once a fierce and mighty hero, Duncan's body lay still deep under a layer of dirt and dead leaves in the pit through which he fell to his death oveer 400 years ago. By this age a forgotten legend, not many children grew up with stories of the brave and mighty Duncan. Their ears were used to hearing the names of more recent heroes, such as Aran, Freud, Mercedes and Sharpstar, who were still around to admire.

The Black Mage, who had grown up towards the end of Maple World's longest period of world-wide peace, ad grown up with stories of heroes like Duncan who died heroicly years before their childhood. Mage himself, though he didn't like to admit it, had in fact, as a child, enjoed hearing stories about Duncan and once dreamed of growing up to be like Duncan. The Mage had an illness that caused him to be physically extremely weak, which forceed him to turn to the study of magic instead of training as a swordsman.

Looking back at the days of his chlidhood, the memories he has been getting back lately gave Black Mage an ideea for a new scheme. He had, infact, taken care of many young explorers lately. Growing rapidly in power allowed the mage to do the honors himself, and in doing so he would taunt the explorers from time to time. Through this, and by talking to his disciples, the Black Mage quickly discovered that children, and adults, of this day and age had not even the slightest idea who Duncan was. At the very least, not the ones he's talked to...

Mage had a scheme developing, and this time he was planning to put it into action himself. He had always wanted to meet Duncan in person, and now, he knew, he had the power to.
