Prelude
Everyone in the 'Orphanage Gang' developed a shell during their lives there, they developed a personality, and they developed a lifestyle. And all those lifestyles are unhealthy, but they keep them up. Why? Because they don't know that the others have a shell too.
She is an overachiever, she strives to prove herself, to be perfect for others, she's already done it though, she just doesn't notice.
He is defensive, he strains to become stronger, to make up for his size, but he's already strong of body, he needs to be strong of mind.
She fakes her happiness, her cheer, her optimism, just to hide away her memories, but all she has to do is face them head on, and she won't have to pretend.
He is a womanizer, he runs at any sign of commitment, he is afraid of truly loving someone, but maybe that's all he needs.
She gives away all her care and her love, she spends all her time taking care of others, she needs someone to take care of her.
He is a troublemaker, he has no respect for authority, perhaps because authority has never respected him, his mind deceives him if he thinks that.
He is a loner, he hides his emotions, he pushes away companionship, he makes it so he has no capacity for love, but that's not true, he needs someone to love him.
They hide themselves from each other, they hide their problems and their true faces, but I know who they really are. I am their Matron Edea, and I always will be no matter what happens to them or me, in only so many words.
