Remus Lupin was sitting, trembling dangerously in the corner of a room after a particularly nasty transformation. He was curled up in a ball in Tonks' arms, close to crying. Tonks was stroking his hair and rocking him back and forth, easing his pain.
Though it normally bothered him to have people stroking his hair like that, he felt immensely comforted in the arms of the woman he loved. He tried to choke out his thanks to her and to tell her how much he loved her but she just cut him off.
"Shh. Don't worry, Remus. I know. I love you, too." Tonks said softly to him. He just smiled and held onto her tighter, causing her to smile also. "And I always will."
