"Daddy! Daddy! Read me a story?" Saffron Antonia Snape asked
Severus couldn't resist seeing as she looked just like her mother with her huge brown eyes and curly hair only that it was black not honey coloured.
"Which one Princess?" He asked sitting in the rocking chair next to her bed
"The fairy one" the 3 year old replied
"Of course my princess" Severus replied picking her fairy book off of the shelf and reading through it slowly until she was snoring softly. "Good night Saffy darling" he whispered kissing her forehead softly
He walked out of her room and down the hall, when he entered his room he used his wand to change his clothes to his pyjamas being too tired before climbing into bed and looking at the photos on his bed-side table... Specifically the one of him, Saffy and Hermione
Hermione had been his wife for 5 years before she died...
They had both been Aurors (and Hermione had another part time job which she loved) and were put on the case of hunting down the remaining Death Eaters, she had been out on a mission trying to round up the Malfoys with a few other aurors when it had happened... She had taken down Lucius and Draco Malfoy but the force of the spell caused the house to fall down...

Severus had then decided he was going to find a less risky job as he refused to leave Saffy as an orphan, so that's exactly what he did. He quit and went back to Hogwarts where Albus welcomed him and Saffy with open arms as he needed a new DADA professor.
Severus had always wanted the post... But not like this... The DADA post had been Hermione's along with Remus Lupin who had been given a better job at the ministry...
He took a deep breath pulling himself out of his memories and smiling softly at the photo... Hermione had been gone for a year now but he would never get over her.
