Farid watched as the silver blade of the sword came down toward his heart as if it wasn't coming down on him. Time slowed and almost stopped and he came to accept that he would be dead. But as heopened his eyes to face the sword, he saw a head of fair hair standing in front of his body; he realized who it was a nanosecond too late.

The blade went through her body and as he felt her blood spray on his abdomen.

"Meggie!" He felt numb, this wasn't supposed to happen! They weren't supposed to die young; they were going to grow old together!

Farid knelt down to the ground with Meggie and held her close to his chest, knowing that she couldn't stay much longer in this world only made it harder to find the words he needed to tell her.

"Meggie, I-I love you. I wanted you to stay with me forever, I still do. Please, don't leave me." Meggie's once sky blue eyes were now a dull blue and her mouth opened to speak, and speak she did.

"F-Farid, I-I love you too, a-and I'm not afraid, please, just live, live for me. Please?" She brought her hand up to his cheek, and with a sigh, she let her eyes and hand fall, leaving a bloody handprint on Farid's cheek. "Good-bye." A whisper on the wind.

Farid woke with a cry. He reached over to feel if it was only a dream and sighed when he felt Meggie's body next to his. He gently shook her awake; she mumbled something and opened her eyes.

"What?" She mumbled in a sleep filled voice.

Farid pulled her towards him and kissed her on the lips, savoring her warm body over the dead and cold one in his dream. "Bad dream, that's all."

She giggled.

"Hmm, maybe you should get more bad dreams, if this is how you'll wake me up, huh?" He smiled and nodded, pulling her so her body was pushed up against his, still trying to shake off the dream.

"I love you Meggie. Don't ever leave me, ok?"

"Ok. I love you too hun." With that, the married couple fell back asleep as Meggie put her arms around her bulging belly and felt a kick, she smiled.
