Here's a little one-shot to a kinda strange pairing ;)

Soo... The characters don't belong to me and also the dialouge in the beginning belongs to Numb3rs' creator's.
Two worlds
He sits there and watches him.
"Something is missing.
According to the crime report, the killer took four steps to the west, he pivots, he takes three steps to the east."
Larry slowly moves from one side of the sandbox to the other.
Colby doesn't know why but something about the professor amazes him. He's totaly lost in his thoughts, so concentrated on the case.
Colby, on the other hand, can't concentrate. What's wrong with him? What does he like about Dr. Lawrence "Larry" Fleinhardt, physics professor?
Colby doesn't know if it's the quirky, but cute behaviour of Larry.
Larry is always lost in his own little world. A world Colby would never fit in. Stars and supernovas just don't fit with guns and crimes.
Those were two different worlds.
Two worlds, that could never be bound.
Two worlds, that didn't allow peaceful living.
Two worlds, that just don't fit to each other.
The agent tries to concentrate.
He sighs and helps Larry with his thoughts.
"He's pacing."
Larry looks confused for a moment, but then repeats:
"He's pacing. Then he hears her approach..."
"She was on cell phone, so he waited for her to pass."
"Right, right. And then he just, he leaps from his lair."
Larry jumps into the sandbox, in his hand a ruler as 'knife'.
Colby has to hold back his laughter.
"Larry." Colby stands up.
"I don't think he leapt from a lair."
The agent takes Larry's hand and turns the ruler around.
"And certainly, his knife was not in the air like this."
Larry is surprised by the following demonstration.
"He pulled her into the bushes from behind and cut her throat in and out like that."
Colby pulls Larry back and demonstrates how the knife cut out the throat.
"O...okay." Larry is slightly shocked and turns around in the agent's arms, so that he can look him in the eyes.
Now Colby is surprised.
Silence... painful silence.
"Ehm... Colby, you can let go now."
But Colby just stares at Larry. Slowly the agent gets his face closer to Larry's.
The professor's eyes widen in surprise as he feels Colby's lips touching his.
A long kiss.
It takes about one minute until the kiss ends, but it feels like hours. Time stands still.
Colby lets Larry go and looks to the ground. He's embarrassed.
Larry still stares at him.
"What... what just happened?"
"I... I'm so sorry. I don't know what's gotten into me."
Colby runs out of the room without waiting for an answer.
Larry tries to follow him, but the agent is faster.
"It's...okay.", Larry says quietly, thinking of the kiss.
