Standing In disbelief, Light Yagami, with a shocked look on his face, wondered why Near and the other members of the SPK were still alive. He glanced down at his watch and thought, "What the hell is going on? It's been forty seconds! THEY SHOULD BE DEAD!"
A low voiced pierced through the silence, "I told you no one was going to die here" Near said triumphantly. Light saw Near's eyes glance behind him, signaling one of the SPK members to rush outside the red door and apprehend the man behind it. Light's eyes widened as he saw Mikami being pulled inside, the notebook being snatched away from him. Another SPK member then gave the notebook to Near. Light realized that he had better think fast, for If Near read the notebook out loud, everything that he had worked for, would be in vain. Sliding his hand in his pocket he clicked his watch three times and pulled out the page of the notebook from his watch, but kept it hidden in his pocket. Smiling to himself he thought, "All Near has to do now is turn the notebook around to show me the names written and ive won!" His eyes widened at the thought as he had anticipated the SPK's tampering with BOTH notebooks, this was a last resort. He smiled slightly, trying not to draw attention as Near turned the notebook." You see everyone? All of our names are in it…except for one…Light Yagami."
Light smiled and glanced down at his watch, thinking to himself, "And not a moment too soon…" All of a sudden, without warning, all of the task force members behind Light dropped dead of heart attacks. Light turned around, trying to look shocked at the groans of the task force members, and quickly pulled out the piece of the death note he had in his pocket. He then proceeded to write the names of all of the SPK members down……including…Nate River. Thinking to himself, "I knew something like this might have happened, so just in case I wrote down the names of all of the task force members on the death note sheets and set the time for 45 min after we would meet here." Light smiled widely as his plan comes to action.
Shoving the paper back in his pocket he whipped around laughing menacingly, "ITS OVER NEAR!" Gasping together, the members of the SPK stumbled slightly in shock where they stood. Near, realizing what he had done stood up suddenly holding his toy model of Kira. "SHOOT HI-…" Near stopped short as he clenched his chest. Light chuckled, "40 seconds Near…too bad you were too slow…im a god now…and you? You…and your pathetic lineage of L …are dead." Near fell to the floor onto his face, as well as all of the other members of the SPK. The toy model of Kira rolled to Lights feet. Light reached down and picked it up, crushing it in his hands and looking up into the heavens. "IT'S OVER L ! IVE WON!" Light sat on the floor in relief.
"God!" Mikami shouted and ran to Lights feet and kneeled before him. "Now no one opposes you! Your will is absolute!" Light smiled widely. "Mikami….my trusted servant…go forth and spread my words to the people…Kira...reigns supreme." Mikami then nods and runs out of the warehouse quickly.
"Nice going Light. I knew you could do it all along. Hehehehe" Ryuk said as he floated down from his observation point. Standing to his feet, Light Yagami turned and left the warehouse without a word, tossing an apple to Ryuk as he left for home.
