They lay intertwined on the bed; breath still coming in gasps as they slowly came down from their pleasure and relaxed. Their hands roamed across the other's body, the touches light and comforting. Gentle kisses, far different from the bruising press of lips from minutes before, were exchanged. Blue eyes stared into violet, love shining in both. They remained there for a timeless moment, lost in each other. As they regained the ability to speak, they murmured to each other, reaffirming their adoration.
"Mine forever."
"Yours forever."
Other sweet nothings would pass between them, but it could not compare to those simple statements. The knowledge that they were loved and cherished overpowered everything else. It didn't matter what other issues were happening outside. Their countries were both having problems, but here they were Matthew and Alfred, two people in love.
