Sparrow's Pearl
Sailing far, sailing free,
We leave a world behind.
Explore the waves, traverse the sea,
Our lives are all entwined.
Pile on the sail, mates,
The wind's a-risin' high!
Catch the breeze, and toy with fate –
This ain't our day to die.
There's islands off the starboard bow,
And ships away astern.
But she's a-runnin' quickly now –
For freedom does she yearn.
And I've got freedom – see the shore,
That's vanished all away.
Beyond horizons, there'll be more,
And we'll be there someday.
So I'll set her loose, I'll steer her light,
And we'll be in new seas tonight –
Sailing far… sailing free.
