Bubblegum Ice cream
It had been 3 weeks and 2 days since Noodle came in the Fed Ex box, yet Russel felt so close to her since then. She was like his little sister, a daughter even. Russel would do anything he could to make her little world perfect.
Right now he was driving her to get ice cream and have an afternoon to their selves. Russel knew Noodle needed to get away from the constant Murdoc picking on 2D. They were fighting more then usual these days. This was due to the maximized amount of painkillers 2D was taking, this had him forgetting stuff and making stupid mistakes, and that lead to Murdoc beating on him every few seconds.
"Noodle have you ever had ice cream before?" Russel asked as he parked the car.
Noodle shook her head.
They exited the car and walked up to the ice cream stand. Russel looked at the tiny guitarist. She was wearing her favorite blue jacket, the same one she had on the day she arrived at Kong. She looked around, eyes wide open, with a big smile on her face as usual. Noodle was such an inspiration to Russel. She was always so optimistic.
Russel turned to the man at the ice cream stand. Pumpkin ice cream was always Russel's favorite. It may have been an unusual flavor but there was something about pumpkin flavored ice cream that he just loved.
"One pumpkin ice cream." he said proudly. He looked at Noodle again. The drummer supposed he had to pick an ice cream flavor for her, since she couldn't speak any English. 'What kind of ice cream would be right for Noodle?' he thought. It may sound weird but for Russel, someone's favorite ice cream described their personality. For example, Murdoc's favorite was pistachio, and 2D's favorite was mint Oreo. It was a big deal for him to pick her ice cream. He thought a little more. Then it hit him.
"And one bubblegum ice cream."
Russel and Noodle sat down on the curb.
"Do you like your ice cream Noodle?"
She nodded quickly, ice cream all over her face. He chuckled. They sat there for a while. Russel would ask Noodle a lot of questions and she would answer the best she could in English. He asked her what she wanted to be when she grew up, and who was her greatest role model.
Later, Russel took Noodle to the beach. They walked on the shore and he told her about how he came to be in Gorillaz. It was a sad story but she looked to be very interested in it. Noodle would ask Russel questions, like what his favorite kind of fruit was and if he preferred scented candles, incense, or air freshener. They were odd questions, but he would go with it.
After that, Russel and Noodle drove back to Kong. They were getting out of the car, when Noodle looked at him and said "Arigatou gozaimasu Russel-san" and kissed him on the cheek. Then she skipped inside. Russel didn't know a lot of Japanese, but after the few weeks Noodle had been in Gorillaz, he knew she said thank you. Russel smiled to himself, then followed Noodle into Kong studios.
