[I do not own Blue Exorcist]

Yukio sat in his room, looking through some old pictures in his scrapbook. He flipped and flipped the pages. They all had pictures. Those pictures were of him and Rin, smiling together with their father Shiro. Those memories were now on plastic photos, taped inside a scrapbook of paper. He was observing the photos, smiling and crying at the same time. He knew it wasn't anyone's fault but Satan himself for taking Shiro Fujimoto from his life. He didn't even blame Rin, then he did at the same time. Rin had Satan's blue flames and Yukio did not. This was something that made Yukio go either side of a coin. Those blue flames killed Shiro and Rin has them. Then, yet again, Rin was Yukio's beloved brother. All those flaws Rin had: Being lazy, always doing things on his own, and his stubborn attitude when it came to certain things. Yukio loved them all anyways, they were just parts in his imperfect brother. He couldn't change them; he didn't want to change them.

Yukio always wondered what really happened. He asked Rin many times before, never getting an answer. He eventually stopped asking Rin, seeing it bothered him a whole lot. The clock struck 10 p.m.

"Hey Yukio, you've grown a lot since I last saw you!", Shiro's voice echoed through Yukio's thoughts.

"It's only been less than a year, dad… Since we lost you…", Yukio mumbled. "I don't know if I can really remember your voice… that worries me."

Yukio heard knocking on his door. He opened it; it was Rin. He was smiling, showing his fangs. "Happy Birthday!", Rin held out a Christmas decorated cake. "We're finally 16!"

In Rin, Yukio thought, he saw Shiro. They did have similar personalities, always smiling, perverted. Most importantly, they both wanted to protect Yukio. "I almost forgot… thanks big brother."

Rin grabbed Yukio's arm, dragging him all the way outside the building. Yukio's eyes widened through his glasses; everyone was outside. It was cold but everyone had their winter garments. Everybody smiled and partied.

Yukio smiled too. "Don't forget Rin, we're visiting dad's grave tomorrow."
