Lilly Ashby sat in her room with a locked door curled up in a ball as tears fell from her eyes. Cane stood next to her wishing she could feel his touch. Lilly had accepted the fact that he was gone and he couldn't communicate with her anymore.
"Why did you have to go?"She whispered in muffled cries. Cane massaged her shoulders in an effort to calm her, but it was to no avail. She slowly rose out of her bed and walked out of the house. She was then met by Neal.
"Lilly honey where are you going?"He asked. Lilly blinked in confusion at that question. She wasn't sure where she was going, she just wanted to run away from everything that slapped the fact she lost Cane in her face.
"Lilly, Lilly, Lilly!"Neal frantically called.
"I don't know! I just need to go for a walk!"She cried. Neal nodded in understanding and Lilly began walking. She walked far away from Genoa City, into the place where Colleen drowned. She stared at the water one mile from her and started walking. She soon stopped when she got on the cliff.
Look Cane, It's Colleen's final resting place. Don't worry Cane, you'll see me soon enough. She thought as she stared at the sparkling water below. She stared at the cell phone in her hand.
If I let it be seen then they'll find me and then I won't be with you.
"Lilly don't do this. Please stop. Turn around, and go back to Genoa City." Cane growled. Lilly stared at him as he stood next to her.
Now you show up. You know this is perfect. Now we can both be together. Lilly told him as she tossed her cell phone over the cliff. She then bent down and took her shoes off.
"If these are found then I won't be with you." Lilly told Cane as she threw them over the cliff. Lilly gave a smile as she walked over to the edge.
"Hey Cane, you and I can be together forever now." Lilly smiled as she jumped off the ledge.
"NO!" Cane shrieked as she fell into the freezing waters. Lilly had given up, and she was drowning. She opened her eyes to find her and Cane standing in a meadow.
"Why Lilly? Why do you have to hurt Neal and Malcom like this?" Cane asked as he wrapped his arms around her.
"Cane you tried to comfort me and everyone kept telling me that you weren't real! And damn it I love you!"she cried. Lilly felt someone banging on her chest and she growled.
"Breathe! Come on Lilly breathe! Lilly come on!" Malcom begged, sounding like he was crying.
"Lilly go back to them, please!" Cane begged her. Lilly didn't move an inch as air was forced in her lungs and someone banged on her chest.
"Lilly don't give up please! I'm sorry!" Neal begged in tears. Lilly wrapped her arms around Cane with a smile.
"It won't be long now. They'll pronounce me dead, and then we can go together."She laughed. Cane knew it was no use and he sighed.
"I'm sorry but she's gone." Cane said as he appeared before them.
"C-c-c-c-Cane!"they both stammered. Lilly's heart stopped beating and she wrapped her arms around Neal.
"I'm sorry it has to be this way, but I'm with Cane now. I love you."Lilly smiled. Neal and Malcom broken into tears and Lilly and Cane walked into the light of the meadow hand in hand.
