SCENE: Everyone is in the Great Hall, Voldemort has just been killed, and Luna has just distracted everyone by announcing there is a Blibbering Humdinger out the window, allowing Harry to slip under his Invisibility Cloak so he can have some privacy.
As Harry disappeared beneath the cloak, a sudden rush of gratitude for Luna filled him. He did not stop to think; he swooped in and pecked Luna on the cheek before making his way through the crowded Great Hall in search of his friends. Looking back, he saw Luna blush, raising her hand to her cheek.
Now he could move through the Great Hall without interference. He spotted Ginny two tables away; she was slowly rising from the group of redheaded Weasleys, looking around anxiously. Then, many things happened at once. There was a jet of green light and Harry was thrown back across one of the long house tables. He grabbed his hawthorn wand, which he had stowed under his cloak, and sprang to his feet. The Great Hall was in chaos. People everywhere were running and screaming; some had even begun fighting again. Harry threw off the Invisibility Cloak and whipped around, trying to find the cause of the sudden commotion, and saw several bodies strewn along the table he had just seen Ginny at.
That's when he heard the high, cold voice, only this time, it did not belong to Voldemort.
In the center of the Great Hall, hovering a few feet over the dead bodies that were laid there, was Ginny Weasley, her brilliant red hair in a bloody halo around her head. Her pale skin seemed to radiate light, as Voldemort's had done, her soft brown eyes ablaze.
"Foolish blood traitors!" she shrieked. "Lord Voldemort will never be conquered, for his heir lives within me!"
Harry raised his wand, unsure of what to do.
"Harry, no!" Harry turned and saw Ron running at him. "No, don't hurt her! She doesn't know what she's saying!"
"On the contrary, brother, I know exactly what I am saying," Ginny continued in her high voice which echoed around the hall. "For I have been a faithful servant of Lord Voldemort for years, and I now carry the highest honor; I carry his child."
Harry simply stared at the sight before him. But before he could do anything more, Hermione cast a full Body Bind from behind him, hitting Ginny in the chest. The small body turned suddenly rigid, but stayed in midair.
"That should hold her until we can get her to Azkaban," Hermione said breathlessly.
"Azkaban? Are you insane??" Ron shouted at her. "She's my sister! She must be Imperiused or something!"
"No, Ron. She isn't. If she was acting under the Imperius curse, then she would have been released from it when Voldemort died. I'm sorry."
Ron was not the only one stunned. The entire Great Hall seemed to be staring, open mouthed, at the figure floating above their dead, her body rigid, yet seeming to be having a fit of giggles. Shaking his head in disbelief, Ron ran from the room, soon followed by the rest of the Weasleys.
Harry, however, hardly noticed his absence. He was still transfixed upon the girl who he once loved, the girl who had betrayed them all. Suddenly Luna appeared beside him.
"I trusted her too, Harry," she breathed. Without thinking, he put his arms around Luna and drew her close to him.
