In another life, Dick and Wally don't have super powers.
In another life, Dick is just a guy studying business and computers at college, admittedly two years earlier than the typical freshman. But he's normal.
In another life, Wally is just a kid struggling to pass physics so he can get his chemistry degree. Unbelievably normal.
In another life, Dick and Wally can be together.
But that isn't the case in this one.
It makes complete sense.
Don't date your bodyguard, don't let your bodyguards date each other, don't let superheroes working on the same team date each other. It makes so much fucking sense.
It doesn't stop Wally from hating it.
It's really strange to have Wally hate anything. He's a really happy go lucky kind of guy. The only things he really hates are evil doers and hearing that there's no food left.
But Wally hates being in love with Dick, and not being able to act on it.
The worst part is, Dick is so good at brushing him off. Brushing their love off. Who does that? Bats do apparently.
Being a bat is good for having no emotions and always knowing the answer and always doing the goddamned right thing.
Well guess what being a speedster is good for?
Blowing off steam.
And eating a lot.
And running really fast.
Running away from his problems really fast.
So Wally runs, runs faster than Flash and Impulse.
He runs away from these problems.
He runs to another life, where he can be normal.
He runs to a life where Wally and Dick can be together.
