Author's Note: I wrote this fic as my first entry to the "fanfics100_claim" on livejournal, but I'm still trying to figure out exactly how to post it there so that it counts. But I decided to post it here too ;). It's...103 words, almost an exact drabble, and the prompt was "Work". I'm not sure how much I like it, but I figured what the heck? Please review! :D

Work

------------

Teyla shot an irritated glance at the roiling black clouds that hung heavy and low in the sky. All the heat of the past few days was trapped between their low bellies and the earth, making the warm air sticky and muggy. She worked to secure everything before the storm.

She half wished the clouds would simply spill their burdens and drench her with cool, clean rain.

She tied down leather tarps over crops and carried what she could inside, laboring and sweating under the gray sky. They would save everything, if they had to.

They had worked too hard to lose it.
