A Smile is All It Takes

"Good Morning, President Kitou!"
Yuushi grinned. "Good Morning!"
He walked through the halls with a smile as he exchanged greetings here and there with the students he met along the way. When he finally reached the door to the student council office, he took a deep breath. Being surrounded by people was already exhausting by itself. And the real work hasn't even begun.
"All right. Here I come!" He told no one in particular before turning the knob.
When he walked in, the room was still empty. Or so he thought before he heard footsteps coming from the adjacent storage room. The door opened and someone's head popped in.
"Ah, Yuu-chan!" The boy beamed. "Good morning!"
"Nagi?"
Yuushi gave Nagi a once over and noticed that the latter's uniform was somewhat crumpled. He must've been cleaning the storage room for quite a while now. That was something Nagi loved to do even though no one obliged him to.
'Oh well,' he chuckled, 'at least that's a sign of progress.'
Before, Nagi would only come to the student council office when he had duties to attend to. But lately, he's been dropping by to clean the storage room, arrange the cabinets and book shelves, tie up the curtains and open the blinds, and other little things that most council members tend to neglect. But because of that, he would come earlier than everyone else, doing all those things by himself.
'I guess it can't be helped...' Yuushi mused, chuckling. 'Nagi is a very shy person, after all.'
"Nagi, you really don't have to do this all the time."
Yuushi crossed the little distance between them. When he was already right in front of Nagi, he noticed a little black spot on the tip of the shorter boy's nose. He then took out his handkerchief.
"I'm just organizing things a little bit, so that it'll be easier for everyone to look for stuff they need." Nagi scrunched his face a little as Yuushi wiped the dirt off his nose.
"I know, I know. But next time, wait for me, okay? We'll do it together." Yuushi beamed.
"Mm!" Nagi nodded cheerfully.
Looking at Nagi's smile, Yuushi felt like he could take on any work he had to do for the day.
'Some mornings are just brighter than usual.'

A/N: Gah. I love love love love Nagi. He's one of the most darling characters I've ever encountered. He's just… too cute for words. I'm not sure if I was able to protray in this fic just how loveable he is, and to those who've already read the manga and think that he's OOC, I'm really so sorry (shrinks)

As you can see, I am a suicidal author. I picked up both Yuushi and Nagi (TS) and Fuji and Ryoma (Tennis no Oujisama), as my pairings to write little fics for, for 50 lovequotes. Let's see how (if) I'll manage to complete it. XD
