Disclaimer: Alas, I am devoid of all ownership, as I am not J.K. Rowling or Joss Whedon. I don't even own the plot, because so many great authors on here have done wonderful stories with it already. Oh, and ignore the timing logistics, seeing as in Buffy-land this is 2002, but in Potter-ville it's 1997. Psh. Let's say it's 2002 in both, but the Potter folks are in their 7th year…yeah, that should be it. Venture on, dear readers!
"Oh…my…GODDESS!"
At the moment of these words utterance, a bright light engulfed the room. The two women in the center, sitting relatively placidly, considering, had different reactions to the bizarre occurrence: The tanned young brunette ducked, but quickly looked up, smiling, with awe. A look of newfound power and a definite trace of confidence crossed her face. The other women, a redhead, seemed to be the epicenter of this divine light, and as it radiated from her form, her hair turned white, a heavenly, vibrant shade. Her head was tilted upwards, and her eyes were looking to the heavens in pure ecstasy. In both their minds resounded the words that their leader, their slayer, their friend, had voiced only one day before:
"So here's the part where you make a choice: What if you could have that power…now? In every generation, one slayer is born…because a bunch of men who died thousands of years ago made up that rule. They were powerful men. This woman (indicating the self-depreciating red-head who would perform the spell) is more powerful than all of them combined. So I say we change that rule. I say my power…should be our power. From now on, every girl in the world who might be a slayer…will be a slayer. Every girl who could have the power…will have the power. Every girl who could stand up…will stand up. Slayers…every one of us. Make your choice. Are you ready to be strong?"
And they were ready to be strong, and they made their decision. Thus, as is frequently the case, the choice of a few gravely affected the lives of many. All over the world, young and exceptional women were now realizing just how exceptional they really were. Among these, and by far one of the most remarkable, was a teenaged girl by the name of Hermione Granger who was entering, but not planning on attending, her seventh and final year at Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry.
AN: mmkay…I should get Chapter 1 up in a couple of days. Any and all suggestions, reviews, etc. are greatly welcomed and cherished!
