"Nobody sees me. Nobody stops and talks to me." He said.
Carmen stopped and pondered that for a moment before addressing her friend.
"Nobody sees you do things? Ever? Nobody catches you?"
"Yeah." Waldo replied sadly. "It would be nice if just once my mom saw me take a cookie before dinner. It would be nice is somebody would just look at me and see me. Not just look right through me. Kind of like you."
"How did you do this, I mean, how did you become like this?" Carmen asked.
"Carmen, I know you too well. You're going to try. I have to stop you here. It's miserable, Carmen, you'll be invisible."
"But," Carmen said, "What if that's what I want?"
