My heart raced, it could be anywhere I thought. Reluctantly I started forward through the thick fog, and dark grove of trees. I had an idea of the area, I just couldn't believe it. I was in a video game. Now how I got there wasn't a mystery.

I walked to school, glanced into my classroom and saw my friends. They talked about the slender man. I walked in slowly and when they noticed me the chatter ceased. "What were you talking about?" I asked.

"Oh, nothing you would be interested in, Abby" Alexandria giggled, her dirty blonde hair fell into her face. I inched closer. I could tell they wanted me to do something, though I didn't believe it would hurt anyone.

"Will you tell me anyway?" I asked. I couldn't help wondering what they talked about.

"If you promise to try it," Intimidated Jade, smirking as her eyes went dark. Her crimson black hair was shining as if it had a secret. She had always known that I didn't like scary things, but since I didn't know, she guessed she could get me to do it.

"Okay," I promised stepping even closer waiting to hear what they wanted me to do. Jade stood up and glided to me till she was right in front of me.

"I'm doing a project on fear. I need you to play the game slender so I can observe."

That was what I heard that made me shutter. Those who didn't know who the great slender man had a perfect life of not being scared. I remembered that Jade came to my house. I looked up the game, and I downloaded it, thinking it was fine. Instead, I got sucked into the game. I appeared in a darkened forest. "Jade?" I asked looking at the gloomy trees and the flashlight in my hand. An owl screeched in the distance making me jump. I took a shaky step forward. I looked around checking out the fence and the surrounding trees. "Jade you can stop this now," I tried yelling. Then I realized the area.

My heart raced, it could be anywhere I thought. Reluctantly I started forward through the thick fog, and dark grove of trees. He could be anywhere, I thought, oh no, I thought.

I came upon a tree, tall and thick, had scratchy bark. On it was a note. "One out of eight," I murmured. I grabbed the note and turned around, half expecting him to be right behind me. He wasn't. I felt a breath of relief. Then the drums sounded. I screamed and started jogging, half heaving breaths, half crying. I turned around a diminished cord struck and I saw the horrifying slender man.
