This little drabble just came to me while I was supposed to be studying for finals

Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto.

Kakashi's gaze rose above his ever-present book to look at the source of the loud noises and a large cloud of dust. Yelling about how 500 laps around Konoha running backwards would prove their youthfulness, Maito Gai and Rock Lee took off around a bend in the road, their enthusiasm as boundless as it always was. They were two peas in a pod. Both were excellent at Taijutsu, overly energetic, fixated on youthfulness, and never in a bad mood. Not to mention they both had black hair in a bowl cut, dark eyes, and extremely bushy eyebrows. They even wore identical green … outfits … for lack of a better word. They were inseparable and identical. It was really a testament to their utter cluelessness that they were still in the dark. Even Naruto knew, and that was saying something. Neither of them had any clue that they were related by anything more than "a devotion to the youtfulness of life" as they put it. It was pretty easy to figure out, really. All of the other genin looked almost exactly like their parents, and Lee looked almost exactly like Gai. Lee didn't know who his father was. It was so obvious, but the pair was oblivious relationship. Even if Lee's mother was too drunk to remember who she had gone home that night with like she claimed, it should have become obvious fairly soon. She knew that she spent the evening at a ninja bar, and the resulting child was almost an exact replica of one of the Konoha ninja. And Maito Gai was not an easy person to overlook or forget. Granted, Kakashi didn't blame Lee's mother for saying that she didn't know who Lee's father was. If she admitted who the father was, Gai would never have left her alone, perhaps a fate worse than death for any sane person, Kakashi thought. Still Kakashi had to marvel that neither father nor son had figured it out. Oh, well. It didn't really matter. They acted almost as father and son anyways. They really were two clueless peas in a pod.
