A/N: Read the author's note in Secrets. Not much to say other than it takes place before my other one-shots.
Flying
Starscream stood outside the base, looking at the sky. Seems like a good day to fly, he thought and was about to take off when he heard light footsteps rushing towards him.
"Daddy!," called out a young, feminine voice.
He turned and saw Celine, the youngest of his creations. He bent down and asked, "What is it you need Seeklet?"
She shyly looked at the ground and said quietly, "I want to go with you."
Starscream frowned. "Celine, you know I can't take you with me, you're too young."
She looked up at him and said, "You take Blackie and Gracie flying. I'll be in your cockpit and I'm always safe with you Daddy."
Starscream cycled his vents. She did have a point, she would be safe in there. "Very well."
Celine's face instantly lit up. Starscream transformed into his alt mode and used his holoform to help buckle Celine in.
"Are you ready Celine? I'm going to go really fast," he warned.
She nodded, shaking with anticipation. He turned on his thrusters and took off. The force pushed the five-year-old further into her seat. When he finally began to slow down, Celine didn't say a word.
"Are you okay?," he asked.
"It's beautiful," she whispered, looking through the cockpit's glass.
"It is," he murmured. Neither of them spoke for ten minutes before she broke the silence.
"Daddy?"
"Yes?"
"Why don't I have a middle name like the kids in my class?," she asked
"You do have a middle name; it's Skyfire," he answered.
She pondered for a moment before asking, "Did you know a Skyfire?"
"Yes. He was my best friend," he said sadly. "We were friends for a long time. He's gone now."
"Did he die?"
Starscream refused to answer.
"I wish I met him," said Celine.
"Me too. He would have loved you" The silence returned.
"Why can't I fly?," she asked suddenly.
Starscream remained silent; he didn't know how to answer that.
"Blackie and Gracie can fly. It hurts when I watch them. It's not fair," she said.
"I don't know. You were just born human. I'm sorry, but that's the way life is sometimes." It really wasn't fair, Celine was born with the spark of a Seeker.
"Okay," she whispered, accepting the answer.
"Seeklet it'll get better, I promise."
Ten years later…
Starscream flew high about the prairie. He scanned the area for Autobots, but found none. Yes, this area was safe.
"Well?," asked his impatient passenger.
"There are no Autobots," he answered.
"Great!," said the passenger happily. "Can we do it now?"
"Do you have your parachute on securely?"
"Yes."
"Is it a tested parachute?"
"Yes, I've tested it ten times," said his passenger, starting to sound annoyed.
"Are your goggles foggy?"
"Dad!"
"Sorry," he muttered. "Okay, here it goes."
Starscream opened his cockpit and unbuckled Celine, who crawled out onto his wing. She had suggested earlier that he should just eject her out, but for some reason Starscream didn't like the idea.
She took a deep breath.
"Scared?," he teased.
"Never," she said and jumped.
For the first time in her life, Celine felt like a true Seeker.
