Rose Weasley was running down the stairs with her broom in her armpit, her bag slung over he shoulder and a fat black cat growling in her arms. She was going back to Hogwarts today.
In her haste to get down to the kitchen, said girl tripped over a couple of Uncle George and Fred's inventions and dropped the complaining feline onto the floor. Not before the cat had been launched a couple of feet in the air of course.
The animal hissed and then sped towards the kitchen after catching a whiff of breakfast. Picking her things back up, Rose sniffed pancakes, and chased after the cat.
A crash of plates and a meow, followed by "Rose! Please CONTROL Maisy!"
Another day at the Weasley house.
Rose's POV
"Well. This should be a year", I muttered.
We were standing at the platform, Mum still fussing with Hugo's hair and Dad helping himself to Grandma Molly's fudge.
Mum slapped his hands.
"Ron! Those were for the kids' journey!"
I tuned out whilst they bickered, searching around for a familiar face among the crowds. Instead, I made eye contact with Joe Longbottom instead, who winked at me and then got onto the train. I have to admit, I blushed a bit. How was that guy so hot? And… a fourth year is okay to date, right?
Apparently Aunt Ginny had got here, because Mum and Dad stopped arguing. Lily, James and Albus stood by her, and Mum had started a lecture about having the proper school books every year.
Watching with an amused smile was Uncle Harry, but eventually, he interrupted her.
"Hermione… the kids really need to get on board. We won't want them being late, or worse, expelled".
Mum, Dad, and Uncle all shared some sort of secret smile. And as I boarded, I smiled too.
