Disclaimer: I do not own Pokemon! This is my first fanfic and it is a one-shot and is very... angsty.
WHY?
She looked at the ground in horror. Just a few minutes ago she had been walking with her best friend and now... and now THIS.
(Now we go back a few minutes before it all started.)
"That's so true!" arcanine barked. That's Blaze, my beloved mate, and my best friend. "See! I told you it made sense." I laughed, my nine tails swishing as I walked beside him. Suddenly his face turned serious "Luna," he whispered, "you... you truly love me right?" I stopped dead in my tracks and looked at him dumbfounded, "Of course! What would make you ask that?" I gasped. Blaze smiled and said "Just testing you." "And?" I quizzed, an eyebrow raised. "You passed silly!" He barked licking my forehead as we continued walking.
Then it really started. First a rustle in the bushes. Then a feeling like your being watched. A sudden ambush. And then... all hell broke lose. I screamed as a huge houndoom burst from the bushes and tackled down Blaze, locking its jaws on his front leg. He howled in pain as blood welled up and, enraged, reached down and grabbed the houndoom's back in his jaws. Hurling him into a tree near me, Blaze snarled and crouched. Turning my head in a daze I caught the houndoom leaping at me, jaws slavering. My pupil turned into a grain of sand as I opened my jaws mouth in a gasp and, in a split second, arcanine was in front of me the houndoom around his neck. Blood welled up and Blaze opened his mouth in a silent scream before collapsing, dead. The houndoom stood and grinned licking the blood off his muzzle. I was enraged and mortified, watching my mate die in front of my eye's, and my eyes clouded over in a red haze. Next thing I knew I was standing over the burnt body, or pieces to be more exact, of the houndoom with blood all over me. I turned back to Blaze and stumbling over curled up to his side feebly and slept with him, my best friend, my love, for the last time feeling his warmth, oh his lovely, comforting warmth, ebb from his lifeless body.
Ever since then I never saw anything the same way again. The sky never that perfect blue... the sun never seemed to chase away the shadows. I didn't know how long I had gone without him but all I knew was I couldn't do it any more. So when I came along that bridge, that rotting, moss covered wooden bridge, I felt salvation. Hope. I stepped on to it and looked to the bottom. A rocky deathbed. I reached the middle and it gave way. I smiled. Finally I'll be with you again. Blaze.

I hoped you liked it.
