The audience was ecstatic. Crowded close together, John and Molly were singing along, clapping in time to the music. John was happily applauding himself on a good choice for their date. The open-air concert was fun, the music superb (who didn't love Paul McCartney, really?). Molly was sublime, absolutely beside herself, holding onto John's hand the whole night. When it came time for the Beatles songs, they both started cheering with the rest of the crowd as the first chords of "Twist and Shout" came on.
"Gimmie a boost!" Molly shouted over the noise. John knew what she meant, and hoisted her onto his back, shimmying her onto his shoulders. Holding onto her knees, he bounced in time to the music, laughing up at Molly as she waved to the band, screaming that she loved Ringo (who had been invited to play drums for Paul that evening only) before sliding back down to the ground, kissing John on the cheek.
"Best. Date. Ever."
