Tennis practice was awkward.

The whole team seemed strained, as if they were all hiding some sort of private thoughts. This of course made Kikumaru Eiji ….

…very pissed off. He hates secrets.

His doubles partner, Oishi Shuichiro seemed even more distressed than the rest of the team. Today was the day. His day.

Today, the day of September 14th was the day that Oishi was going to ask his doubles partner of six years to marry him.

And to say the least, he was fucking nervous.

He fiddled with the little velvet box for a moment before opening it up, revealing the white-gold band to the open locker. He looked at it and sighed. "What if he says no?" he questioned Shusuke Fuji, the only other person in the steamy locker room.

"He wont." Fuji said. Always the optimist.

"Are you certain?" he asked, distress written all over his face.

Fuji nodded, that ever-present smile in his lips.

The two approached the courts, ever so quietly.

"NYA!!!!!" a certain red-haired teenager squealed, before wrapping his arms around Oishi. "Aren't you just sooo excited about the tournament, Nya?"

Oishi smiled. He liked being close to his kitty cat. "Yeah." His reply was spacey. Eiji quirked an eyebrow.

"Is there something wrong?" Eiji inquired, letting go of the black haired teen. Oishi led him to the center of the tennis court and knelt down in front of the cat-loving tennis acrobat.

"Eiji, I want you to marry me." Oishi said bluntly, bulling out the tiny box and opening it to reveal the white-gold band. Eiji stood there in shock. Sure, they had been a couple for about a year and a half, but Oishi wanted to take the plunge already?! Afraid to open his mouth, he gulped.

Oishi sat there, waiting for an answer.

Minutes seemed like years as they passed, the courts dead with eerie silence. Finally, Eiji nodded his head. The band fit perfectly on his third finger. They held each other in an embrace, before captain Tezuka broke the warm moment.

"We still have practice, you know." His toneless voice rebounded in the silent courts.

"Nya, captain Tezu-Buchou. Not today. We all have a wedding to plan!" Eiji shouted, bouncing over to Fuji to talk about color schemes.
