A/N: Idk but with next week's episode being Eddie going undercover and the writers being the writers well I just thought I would humor them and try this. She never made it out alive from her undercover assignment. She got shot after her cover was blown. The people at 1PP swept it under the rug for fear that other cops would never want to go undercover after hearing about this. He knew his dad had no choice as the police commissioner in this situation. He was forced to hide it.
Jamie was losing it. He was hardly eating and he took time off work. He locked himself up in his old room at his dad's house. He only left for the bathroom and for small amounts of food. After being dragged to the doctor he was diagnosed with severe depression. He was put on meds but they only served to numb him. Sometimes he screamed Eddie's name and cried out that her death had to mean something more.
When Erin would visit she was the only sibling he wanted to see. Erin would talk to him and help him try to see sense and she got him to eat a decent meal twice a week. On this particular visit Erin was in his room sitting in a chair next to his bed. They were talking and it seemed to be one of Jamie's better days.
Erin said "I know how much you cared for her Jamie."
"Yeah but now she will never know how I felt. She's dead and I can't tell her I love her." Jamie replied.
"Jamie that woman must have known. Eddie's smart and I am fairly certain anyone can tell you love her. It's written all over your face." Erin said.
"Really? Do you think she died happy Erin?" Jamie asked suddenly.
"Yeah Jamie. She was scared but she always knew you loved her so she died happy." Erin replied with a smile.
"I just want her death to mean something more." Jamie said in an angry tone. He let the tears fall from his eyes freely.
Erin grabbed his hand and held it tightly. "I know Jamie and maybe right now it won't but someday she will be a hero." Erin said.
"Dad told me she was up for a medal but he had to keep it private. He said it was going to be left to me because I was her partner." Jamie replied.
"You know what I liked best about her Jamie? She had a little bit of everyone in this family in her." Erin said.
"What do you mean?" Jamie asked curiously.
"Well she is like mom because she wears her heart on her sleeve and is so caring. She is like Danny because she has a strong sense of justice and is not afraid to do whatever it takes. She is like you because she wants to help everyone and keep them all safe. She is like me because she knows what it is like to want to keep someone you love dearly safe. And she is like dad because she wants to fight for big changes that will make the city safer." Erin said.
Jamie just sat there amazed. "Wow. I never thought about it like that." Jamie replied.
"I can see why you fell in love with her. She would have fit in with our family perfectly. She even had a bit of Joe in her too. And I know Joe and mom would have loved her. Remember Jamie she is with mom and Joe in heaven now and we can't question God and why he took her." Erin said.
"I know Erin. And I know that we will be reunited again someday." Jamie said.
With that Jamie felt much better and realized he would be able to move on but he would never forget his love for Eddie.
