"One Love"
"Kakashi, I'm scared... I don't want to die."
Hatake Kakashi had a dying Rin in his arms. It was pourning. Both of them were drenched with rain and blood, especially Rin. Her whole side had been sliced open. Bone showed through the wound and blood was flowing out. Blood also trickled out of her mouth. Kakashi kept his hand on her side, to apply pressure, in hopes that the bleeding would stop. No, the gash was too sever, she would never make it.
"Rin, I'm sorry. If I was only quicker, if I could have taken the hit for you. Rin oh God! Why did it have to be you? You didn't do anything to deserve this."
"I have one last wish Kakashi."
"Anything. I'd give you the moon."
"Kakashi, can I see your face. I want to see your face one last time."
Kakashi, not caring that the other ANBU where there, slowly pulled down his mask with the hand that was on Rin's side. His perfect face, with only the one mar, the scar that went down his left eye. Rin lifted her hand and set it on his cheek. He held it in its place. Rin was smiling, and crying. She couldn't see anything anymore. Her vision went blurry due to blood loss.
"Kakashi..."
"Hmm?"
"I'm sorry that I couldn't stay with you longer. Forgive me. I hope you're not angry."
"Angry?" His voice was neither harsh or calm. "I could never be angry at you. I would forgive you over and over and over, no matter what you do."
"I love you Kakashi."
"Rin. I love y..."
Her hand slid from his face. She no longer moved. Kakashi could hear her breathing fade. Rin was dead. He hugged her limp body tightly, not minding that he was now covered in her blood. He no longer cried, all his tears were gone. An ANBU member approached him cautiously.
"Sir, we still need to complete the mission."
Kakashi layed Rin's body down. He put his hand out to close her eyes. He stood up and turned around. He no longer showed any emotion. It was like Rin never existed. The rule of shinobi, one must never show emotion.
"Let's go."
They left her body there. As Kakashi's team ran though the forest, Kakashi cringed as he put on his mask.
"Rin..."
Only nineteen almost twenty and she died. Only twenty and he experienced the loss of a loved one for the fifth time. His mother, father, best friend, and mentor were before her. And now, his love. His one love.
