When She's Quiet, Reassure Her That Everything's Okay
Dawn looked uncertainly at the small device in her hand. She smiled slightly at the plusle blinking on the small screen.
'Positive' She thought, going to the kitchen and picking up the phone, 'The test is positive.'
She dialed the number of her husband's work. It was picked up on the second ring and Dawn smiled as she heard her husband's voice filling her ears.
"Paul," She started happily.
Just then, she remembered her husband's hatred for kids. How he always got aggrivated wen they babysat May and Drew's Kids, or Misty and Ash's, Or even Iris and Cilan's! She then became deathly afraid of losing her precious child.
Her voice became shaky. "I..." She tried to start again. She looked at the test again and became completely silent.
"Dawn?" Paul asked through the phone, worry filling his voice.
She started to sniff lightly, then started to bawl. "You're not gonna let me keep him!" She blubbered, as if she had found a lost puppy.
"Everything's okay!" He soothed, "I'll take the rest of the day off and be home any minute." He hung up the phone and Dawn sat there.
She eventually did leave the kitchen and sat on the couch in the living room.
Paul accually did get home very quickly. He parked the car sloppily and ran inside to find Dawn bawling on the couch holding her arms over her stomach protectively.
He sat down next to her and she leaned into him and stopped crying. She pulled out the test and, before handing it to him, she asked "You'd never leave me right?"
Paul looked at her curiously. "Of course!" He answered honsetly.
She seemed to relax a little as she handed Paul the test.
Dawn wimpered a little as Paul stood up quickly, bringing her up with him. He looked at her and she was unable to read his expression.
He grabbed her by the waist and spun her around breifly before pulling her into a sweet kiss. They pulled apart slowly and rested their foreheads against each other.
"This is wonderful." He breathed, kissing her again.
