What About Me?
"I will train him then. I take Anakin as my Padawan learner."
I cannot believe what I'm hearing. Has Qui- Gon lost his mind? He can't take Anakin as his Padawan learner, he already has one. Me! Has he just completely forgotten about me? I don't see how he could. I have been his Padawan for years now, and I am standing right next to him! I mean Force; he could at least wait until I am not around to declare that he is abandoning me without a second thought. It didn't even look like it was a hard decision for him to make.
Okay, now I sound like a jealous youngling. Plenty of Jedi take on a second Padawan. It's no big deal. It's part of the Jedi way of life. But at least other masters have the decency to wait a year, two, maybe more after their first Padawan has been knighted. It's not like my apprenticeship will last much longer anyway. Qui-Gon himself has been saying that he thinks I'll be ready to take the trails next year. Anakin is already way over the age limit, what can one more year hurt? If he really is the 'Chosen One' as Qui-Gon claims he is I am sure he'll catch up.
Alright Obi-Wan, calm down. You are being very un-Jedi-like, childish and selfish. There is no need to worry anyway. The council have made it clear that they will not allow Anakin to be trained. Now get your emotions under control before somebody notices.
Anyway, if Qui-Gon does take Anakin on as his Padawan, all that means for me is that I'll become a knight a year sooner. Everybody wins. What's the worst that could happen? It's not like the galaxy as we know it is going to end.
