Syopa Cusatyo: Like Wildfire

Disclaimer: I do not own FFX or the characters in said game. I know Tikku is a non-cannon pairing, but hey, it works, right?

Guadosalam -

Each of the Guardians wandered their own ways, each deep in thought…as usual. Yuna requested that they all stay behind when she went to go talk to Seymour. Rikku rolled her eyes just thinking about that blue-haired Guado. I mean, she never had a grudge against the Guado…but something about this guy just rubbed her the wrong way. But…he would probably be the only one that could stop her Pilgrimage, right? 'If they got married…then she would have to stop!'

She crossed her arms in contemplation. For a moment, the Al-Bhed thought that she would to pester Lulu for a while or maybe Auron…but they were both too stiff for their own good. Tidus turned to walk away as well, but as he did, she saw a slightly troubled look in his eye.

'He's probably worried about Yunie...' she thought to her self. Determined to cheer him up, she put a spring in her step and followed him.

"Wait up; I'll go with 'ya!" She proclaimed, walking fast to catch up with the young-man's strides as he walked ahead of her. Tidus lead the way to the large arch overlooking the rest of Guadosalam. She finally matched his pace as she walked beside him.

"Hey," she asked as they stopped, "Yunie's not getting married, is she?"

Tidus rested his arms on the stone railing of the overpass.

"'Seems that way."

Rikku grinned mischievously as she elbowed him playfully; he instinctively put a hand up to block her soft blows. "It's your big chance, huh?"

He smiled back, just as mischievous and playful as she was. "I'd rather have you, Rikku." Her breath hitched as he turned toward her and caught her arm with his hand, brilliant blue eyes half covered as he stared into her own beautiful green orbs.

She retracted her elbow from his side and held her arm in front of her, as though recovering from a hit.

"Oh," she exclaimed at the unexpected comment. She knew he had said that as a joke…but had he? But…the way he said it…had he been…

"H-honest?" she asked out loud, pointing a finger to herself, trying to figure out if he had really said that to her. She looked around to see if there was anyone else around. Kimahri was standing two levels under the overpass…but she highly doubted he had said it to him. And he had said 'Rikku' afterwards, right?

She looked down, deep in thought. Maybe…this was her chance. 'At least I'll get it off my chest…even if he doesn't understand. But…what if he did! Oh man…well, it's now or never Rikku.'

She lifted her arm to scratch her head timidly, her jade eyes downcast, head turned away. She giggled for a moment and then gave him a good slap on the back.

"See 'ya!" She called as she stood on top of the railing. Tidus' eyes widened when she realized what she was about to do. She turned to face the ground, bent her knees and jumped. He forced half of his body over the rail, half afraid of her injuring herself, but half of…something else?

She had done the same thing, the first time they met. He had stood upon the railing of the Al-Bhed ship to dive into the water. But instead of hurting herself, she landed gracefully, pulling herself up into a standing position as soon as she hit the ground. Tidus smiled to himself. She was always like that.

She turned around, bending forward playfully and sticking her tongue out. And then she smiled.

"Syopa cusatyo!" She called out, praying he didn't understand her, but running off before she could find out, a fierce blush spreading across her face like wildfire.
