Disclaimer: I do not own Anck-su-namun, Imhotep, Nefertiri, Seti I, or Thebes. I think Egypt owns Thebes. Huh. *ponders for a minute*

PROLOUGE

It is said that Seti I was the most powerful pharaoh in Egypt. He was certainly the most wealthy of them all. He had a beautiful wife and daughter. But when his daughter was a child, his wife died. Seti was overwhelmed with grief for many years. He fell into deep depression, and so did the country along with him. Their kingdom was in great debt and they were poor.

But soon, Seti rose from his depression. He had taken an interest in one of his concubines. He fell in love with her and announced that they were to be married. The concubine, Anck-su-namun, was one of the most beautiful women in all Egypt. Seti loved her.

But Anck-su-namun did not love him back. She was using him for power. She was really in love with the high priest, Imhotep. She would meet with him secretly, for by Seti's orders, no other man was allowed to touch her.

Nefertiri, Seti's daughter, now a young woman and also one of the most beautiful women in Egypt, saw right through Anck-su-namun. She was determined to get rid of this plague that was using her father. She scheduled a fight between her and Anck-su-namun. The fight was public, for entertainment, and Anck-su-namun won. Nefertiri was outraged.

That night, Nefertiri stepped out onto her balcony. There, she could see Anck-su-namun and Imhotep in an embrace. But they split apart quickly as Seti entered. Seti did not see what was right in front of him. But Nefertiri did. As soon as her father left, the two embraced again, and Nefertiri took action. She sent in the Medji, the royal guards, and the two were taken to the pharaoh. Seti was furious, and banished Anck-su- namun to the desert. As for Imhotep, he was condemned to suffer the Homdai, the worst of all ancient curses.

Though Anck-su-namun had left, Nefertiri still felt hat evil was present. She continued to watch over her father's throne, for fear that Anck-su- namun would return.

Anck-su-namun survived in the desert for 2 years. It was here that she gave birth. Imhotep had impregnated her, and so her children were born. They were twins, a boy and girl. Shortly after giving birth, Anck-su-namun died, and left her children in the care of her oldest friend, who lived in a village just outside Seti's rule.

The children grew, and vowed to avenge their mother's death. They were determined to rid Egypt of the Seti dynasty and claim the throne as rightfully theirs.

Liss- What did you think? Please review and tell me. I had to change the story to fit mine, but who cares? I modeled the twins after Gunny and Leto II (who should really be the III, lol) from Dune. But in no way, shape or form do I own Gunny and Leto! They belong to the famous, fantastic, and dead Frank Herbert. So sorry to see him go. Please read the Dune series, and review!
