Lisa Cuddy smiled broadly as she walked down the hallway towards Dr. Gregory House's office. She couldn't believe that House would do something so…nice. He had installed her old med school desk. I guess these few days of annoying him to insanity paid off, she thought. Still…This just proved what she already knew. Dr. Gregory House had was nuts for her.

The whole week had been a rush. After her office was destroyed à la crazy patient. She had decided to bunk in Houses office while hers was repaired, which Wilson remarked as her "having hots for House". Little did he know, he was right, though when Lisa had finally confronted House, she was disappointed in him.

Why couldn't he just be rational for once? It was obvious he was crazy for her. Why did he have to deny it?

Cuddy reached Houses office and saw him sitting at his desk deep in thought. He rubbed his eyes and grabbed a tennis ball off his desk that Lisa had politely returned after she got her office back. He smirked and threw the ball up in the air once, twice, before Lisa knocked on the door. He stopped and looked at her with curiosity.

She stepped in and marched up to his desk and crossed her arms, still grinning. She was positively glowing from excitement…and something else. She shook her head gently, still beaming and cocked her head to one side as if imploring him to speak.

"What?" he finally asked breaking the silence.

All Lisa could do was smile more. House looked at her, his face unchanging. He raised his eyebrows slightly, but underneath his skeptic expression there was emotion brewing. His piercing blue eyes glowed with excitement, though Lisa couldn't see it.

"My old desk from med school", Lisa said shaking her head and putting her hands on her hips. "I wonder who could have possibly gotten his or her hands on it", she continued sarcastically.

"I don't know, maybe you have a guardian angel, or fate intervened", House said, playing along, smirking.

"Oh, come on House, you don't believe in angels or fate", Lisa said with a soft giggle.

"Well I don't know anything about it", House said smugly. He spun around in his chair once and put the tennis ball back on his desk.

"Huh, that's weird; because I'm pretty sure it was you who got it installed." Lisa said crossing her arms again and staring him down like she her stare could somehow provoke a response from him. It was evident that he wasn't baking down.

"Was it you?" she asked softly.

House looked at her closely before answering. Then he smirked and playfully said:" Maybe" He stretched the word into two syllables like a five year old.

"You're seriously not gonna tell me are you?" Lisa said, still beaming.

"Nope" he said popping the P. He stood up, grabbed his cane and coat and limped toward the door, stopping abruptly in his tracks. Lisa turned to face him.

"Dinner Friday, my place, say 6 o'clock. Like Chinese?" he said slowly turning around to face her. He smiled crookedly, his eyes crinkling up.

"Sure", Lisa said, biting her lip to hide her smile. Without another word he limped out of his office not wanting her to see the smile on his face. He had a date. He had a date with Lisa Cuddy.

Lisa turned around to once more glancing at his office. From the corner of her eye she spotted something peculiar on his white board. Stepping towards it she saw that there were four words written on it in his unintelligible scrawl. As she read them she sighed in contentment.

Yeah, it was me.
