Just a happy little drabble-thingie I whipped up in fifteen minutes total because I was inspired. I wondered what would happen if Xelloss WOULDN'T have given Lina and Gourry the sword of light back. What if Gourry brought up the subject that Lina had hidden for a long time? And how would Lina react? In my opinion, the characters are hopelessly OOC, but read this anyways. It's fluffy. But NO FLAMING, 'kay?

Disclaimer: I don't own. Mmm-hmm. And so on...

OOOOOOOOOO

"So, when are you going to be leaving?"

Lina stopped dead on the trail, spitting out the mouthful of water she had just gulped in from her canteen. Her eyes bugged out of their sockets as she looked at Gourry with a look of utter confusion. "WHAT?" Lina squawked, water streaming down her chin as she tried to keep from falling over. Why had Gourry just asked her this out of the blue! Gourry stopped as well, a bit ahead of Lina, looking surprised by her reaction.

"I said: So, when are you going to be leaving?" Gourry repeated carefully, looking nervously at Lina as if he expected her to have the exact same reaction. Lina wiped off her mouth with the back of her hand and slipped the canteen behind on of her belts.

"I HEARD what you said, jellyfish, I just didn't understand. Leaving? What in the world are you talking about!" Lina snapped, still staring in bewilderment at her companion. Gourry scratched his head, pondering how he could make the question any clearer then it was.

"Well... when we first began traveling together you told me that you only followed me everywhere so you could get the sword of light," Gourry explained, "and now I've lost it. So, when are you going to be leaving?" Lina stood staring at Gourry uncertainly, not knowing what to say. HAD she said this? Oh, yes. Now Lina remembered. But it was so long ago that she had told Gourry this. How in the world did such a jellyfish remember?

"I..." Lina began hesitantly, scratching the back of her neck, "... guess... sometime soon..." Of course, Lina didn't want to leave Gourry, but she was too prideful to admit the truth. The expression on Gourry's face was one that a pitiful puppy dog that had lost its master would wear.

"You're really leaving?" He asked sadly. Lina felt blush spread across her face, and covered her glowing face up in embarrassment with her gloved hands.

"N-" She stammered, then in frustration gained more confidence and finished her sentence, "NO! I'M NOT!" Gourry's eyes widened in surprise, wondering if Lina would make up her mind.

"Not? But I don't have the sword of light," Gourry protested, taking his turn to look confused.

"WHATEVER!" Lina yelled, stomping past Gourry, "I'M NOT LEAVING YOU!" Her face was bright red and her eyes were narrowed, her feelings humiliating her. Gourry felt a grin spread across his face, then followed Lina down the trail.

"That's great news! That means I can keep protecting you."

"Whatever. I d- HEY! GOURRY! You KNEW the answer to that question, right? You started that conversation because you wanted some love!"

"..."

"Gourry!"

" Okay...I did..."

"FIREBALL!"

OOOOOOOOOOO

OOC? OH yeah. But I thought that it was a cute piece of fluff all the same. Ack! No flames, please::curls up in an insecure ball: Yeah, I'm an idiot.
