Embracing the Silence

a hug was more powerful than a thousand words.

He was sitting next to her as she cried out her heart, face in the palm of her hands. Kukai wasn't the type to let something like this go so easily. Who else did she have to turn to? Her boyfriend of five years just broke up with her and the rosette was as upset as ever. She looked up to him as a brother figure, someone she could talk to whenever she needed advice.

His emerald eyes stared down at her as she continued to sob and nonetheless, all he could do was stay silent. Nothing he could say would change the fact that she had loved someone so dearly with her precious heart. Now she was probably feeling like the world was over her and that nothing was worth her feelings. However, Kukai knew what Amu needed. Staring at her, he finally rested his hand on her shoulder.

She looked up at him, red, blurried eyes and a sniffle coming out of her. He opened up his arms and grinned at her. Amu couldn't take it anymore, she collided her arms around his chest and he closed her into his embrace. He patted her head and shushed her as she cried. The two stayed that way as Kukai let Amu cry as much as she needed it; she had to anyway.

Kukai knew a hug was more powerful than a thousand words.
