Shane had been awake for quite some time already, but resisted the urge to open his eyes. Opening them would mean he'd have to get up and face another long, hard day. The thought of going down to breakfast and having to defend himself from the other inhabitants of the loony shack was enough to keep him in bed for another 12 hours. Shane knew that they'd be talking.
Well, let them.
The night he'd spent with Reed was vividly burned into the back of his eyes.
A smile touched the corner of his lips as he revisited the scene over and over in his head, adding other things he might have wanted to do to Reed that he didn't get the chance to the night before. He'd never felt so strong a desire with anyone.
Shane's hand made his way to Reed, who lay on his side, back to Blaine. Still with closed eyes, Shane felt his way down Reed's neck all the way down to his lower back with his lips.
Shane edged closer to Reed and pressed his face against his smooth back, and inhaled its faint vanilla scent with deep satisfaction.
Reed moaned softly and rustled about in his sheets to face Shane, who looked back at him with incredulity at his flushed face.
"Shane! L-l-last night!" cried Reed. His hair literally looked like it had been through the tumble cycle in a washing machine. Didn't help that his cheeks were as red as a tomato.
Reed, your big, unassuming eyes are just-just-
Shane drove his face into the pillow he was lying on and roared with laughter.
This only caused more blood to rush to Reed's ears as he muttered a string of curses incomprehensibly. Shane's fit ended, tears in the corners of his eyes, and he looked to Reed with a radiant smile.
"Score!" Shane pumped his fist into the air. "I knew you wouldn't be able to stand that."
"Whatever. For the record, I was awake already. Awake from the very beginning," Reed retorted, nose haughtily raised.
"If you say so," smirked Shane with an eyebrow raised.
Damn those beautiful eyebrows, thought Reed as his lips went into a pout. Huh. The incredible phenomena that is Anderson hair. I get now, Kurt, I really do.
"Tease!" said Reed, hugging himself tightly, eyes screwed up.
Shane took the opportunity to peck Reed quickly on the lips. Reed opened his eyes uncertainly.
It wasn't easy to win with Shane, especially considering this playful mood he was in. Shane regarded Reed with sparkling eyes.
A sigh escaped Reed's mouth. "Well, if you must know, I didn't want to wake you," he muttered as his hands ran through Shane's curly dark hair, which seemed even more magnificent in all its bedhead glory.
Shane broke into a grin. "How nice of you."
Reed threw his hands up into the air and mouthed a why in the direction of the sky.
Dark as Shane's room was, the tiny ray of sun that entered it through the part of the curtains steadily began getting brighter. Even so, the boys took their time to get up.
Some early morning action never hurt anyone, thought Shane as he leaned in towards Reed.
"No." Reed slapped Shane's prodding hands away. "It's late," said Reed, sternness tainting his voice.
Shane raised his hands and backed away. "Whatever you say, officer."
Reed smiled lazily at Shane, falling back into bed with a plop. "I'd stay here forever…"
