Hiei watched as Yukina played her koorime flute on Genkai's porch, the flute actually looked more like an ocarina, in fact it looked exactly like one, granted hers was blue tinted and made of glass.
He had told her that her brother would meet her here tonight. Genkai had already gone to sleep. He jumped down and into the woods still watching and listening, but obscured by the shadows of the trees. A small breeze fluttered his bangs. He studied her for a while, listening to the tune and allowing it to be ingrained into his system.
Soon he had caught onto the tune and felt confident that he would be able to play along with her. He pulled out his own koorime flute and began to play with her. She lowered her flute from her mouth gasping in surprise.
Hiei walked away from the tree line and allowed the moonlight to dance across his silhouette and revealed who he was.
"Hiei? I thought you said that my brother was meeting me here…" Yukina said standing up from her seat on the porch.
"Yukina…" he paused a moment, Yukina had stopped a foot from the porch and was watching him in curiosity. "I am your brother…"
She dropped her flute, it shattered upon contact with the ground, and scattered blue tinted glass. Her hands reached up to cover her mouth in a gasp, and then all at once, she ran over to him and flung herself onto him in a tight hug.
Hiroseki stones scattered across the stone grounds of the temple, clinking as they landed, gleaming silently in the moonlight as Yukina buried her face into her brother's shoulder.
"I'm so happy, I always wished that you were my brother, from the first moment I saw you, I could feel it. "
He looked away from her, "why would you wish that your brother was a murderer, a convicted criminal?" he asked ashamed.
She pulled away and stared at him a moment, and then she hugged him tightly to her. "Hiei, I don't care, you're my brother, I love you, no matter what. I know that you are a good person, and it doesn't matter what you did before I met you, I can't change anything you did, and I don't want to, it's what made you, you. And you are my brother, and I love you, no matter what any one else thinks."
She felt his arms circle around her and pull her to him tightly, as more tear gems scattered onto the temple grounds, black mixing with white, as the twins shared their first embrace.
A figure in the doorway smiled, Genkai had woken with a start when she had heard shattering glass, and had come out to find the scene before her.
She of course was glad that the sociopath had finally told Yukina who her long lost brother was.
Now all that had to be done was to tell the oaf about the news. She smirked thinking about it, but it could be left till later. She smiled softly at them before turning and going back to bed.
Out side Hiei and Yukina ended the hug and began to clean up the temple floor, picking up their black and white hiroseki that littered the ground, feeling for once, that all was right in the world.
