Hello all! This is a one-shot, a request from PrawnNetwork. It really has nothing to do with Jurassic Park; it is based off the Primal Carnage: Genesis trailer. This one-shot will be from the T-Rex's point of view, and will just follow the trailer.
Enjoy!
She could always hear them.
She couldn't see them, or smell them.
But she could hear them, and that was good enough.
The humans, they thought she was just a dumb animal. She was aware that she had never ran free, despite the itching feeling in her strong hind legs to do just that. But she couldn't see. She could feel the bubbling liquid in the warm tank, and the tickling sensations as the air trickled to the surface, trailing up her legs and tail.
It was a pitiful existence.
She wanted to eat, wanted to hunt! But instead, she was in this tank, monitored constantly by the humans. They would communicate back and forth, repeating certain things every time.
"Heartrate.."
"Respiratory rate..."
She didn't understand what it meant. To her, it was just noise. But it was something. A line she could hold onto in the darkness of that tank. Something that told her she wasn't completely unaware.
The humans, on the other hand, were unaware. Unaware of her alertness and patience. And when dealing with a creature like her, with so much pent up instinct and rage, that would ultimately be their demise. Somehow, deep down in her prehistoric brain, it was amusing.
Especially when she managed to pry her eyes open.
It was like a whole new beast. She blinked, her golden eyes opening wide and pupil shrinking to pin-size.
Today was her day. The day she took back the world that was hers. She was there first; the humans just brought her back.
She used her new sense to look around the giant room, kicking her chained feet around restlessly. A roar threatened to tear from her throat, but the metal tube inserted into her prevented that.
It also made her feel like she was choking. She thrashed around wildly, desperate to breathe fresh air without the feel of metal inserted down her. Desperate to hunt.
Suddenly, a chain snapped. And then another. And another, followed by the tube coming out of her mouth, and water flooding in. Feeling more endangered than ever because of her inability to breathe, she swung her massive head to the side, shattering the tank.
She roared ferociously as water swirled, lungs filled with fresh air. The annoying metal thing was still around her neck, but she was free. When she stepped out, giant human things crushed under her feet and sent bright flashes everywhere, but she took no mind, determined to get out and hunt. To be free.
But a strange whirring noise began. At first, she dismissed it and kept walking. But then it followed. She turned towards it, tilting her head. It lit up brightly, and she snarled. But it didn't back off, only came closer. So, she decided it would be her first prey. She crouched down close to the floor and launched towards it, iron jaws locked around it tightly. She felt a strange stinging pain, but it was nothing. The thing flashed again as she tore it in two, dropping the unappetizing piece on the floor and shaking herself off.
Another roar, this one longer and more ferocious, declaring her territory, ripped from her throat. It shook the very Earth, and she was satisfied with herself after. She turned and hissed back at the sparking thing on the floor before heading back towards the light.
She was on this place first.
And the humans were dumb enough to bring her back.
