Sam woke up on a bed of soft pine needles that he didn't recall landing on.
"Hey, you back with me?" Sam heard as he met his brother's concerned gaze.
"What happened?" Sam sounded like he was in a lot of pain.
"The pagan god smacked you around pretty good." Dean took a breath. "I'm sorry Sammy, I tried to...I...I just wasn't fast enough, and then I thought.....the way you fell...I got scared that you..."
"Dean, it's okay. I'm okay," Sam replied, feeling better now.
"No, Sammy...You're not okay."
"What are you talking about?"
"I'm so sorry, Sammy."
