A/N I got this idea from my Guilty Pleasure, which is watching Soldiers come home and surprise their loved ones until I cry. :)

Will: Never was a teacher, was a soldier all his life. he has been on tour for 13 months now.
Shelby: Never gave up Rachel, and went to college in NY. (Thats where she met Will and married him). She is a very famous broadway star. Right now she is not performing.
Rachel: Is just Rachel. A mini-Shelby. Wants to be star just like her mother. Her best friend is her mother.
Rachel finished up her homeschooling when she caught a whiff of something yummy. It was only lunch time, which seemed weird because she usually made her own lunch.
"hmm. What's smells so good in here?"
"I am experimenting!"
"oh… Why do I have a bad feeling about this?" Rachel raised her eyebrow at her mother at her mother looked dramatically shocked.
"Oh Com'on! When I experiment, it comes out good. When your father experiments with food we should take cover!" they laughed, then it stopped altogether.
"When is daddy going to be back?"
"Supposedly in 5 more months." Rachel sighed.
"I miss him. He's been gone for almost 13 months!"
"I know its way too long, but they just won't let him come home!" Shelby started to cry.
"Aw! Mom! Please don't cry! You're gonna make me cry, and then we both will never stop crying!" Rachel said as she wiped her mothers tears away.
"I'm sorry! Shelby Corcoran doesn't cry, but only on cue." Shelby and Rachel light-heartedly laughed together as Shelby puts the plates on the table.
They sat down and ate the creation that was put in front of them.
"This is very good mommy! What is it? a soup of some sort?"
"Yes its a soup. I have the recipe in the kitchen. I don't remember what's in it." Rachel eyed her mother. They both finished the soup.
They walked into the kitchen and did the dishes. Shelby started to smirk as Rachel was coming into the kitchen with the plates. Shelby quickly put in clear hair tie around the squirter.
"Finish the dishes for me will you? I just remembered i have to make a call real quick."
"Of course Mommy!" Shelby walked out of the room and to her room and shut to door, but she still stayed outside of the room. She made her way quietly into the kitchen. Rachel turned on the sink and to her surprise she got wet.
"MOM! COME HERE!"
"Yea sweetie what's wrong?" Shelby asked as she tried not to laugh as a very wet Rachel came at her.
"Here give me a nice big hug."
"I'll pass." Shelby said as she ran away and Laughed. Rachel ran right behind her.
"Come Back! I just want a hug from my -" Shelby looked back and saw that Rachel stopped running. "Daddy?" Before Shelby could ask what she said she got surprised by a hug from behind.
Shelby turned around in their arms and saw who it was.
"Oh. My. God." Shelby started to cry.
"Hello to you too." Will said.
Will hugged Shelby tighter and Rachel joined in. Shelby didn't care if she got wet. She just cared that Will was back unharmed and not in a body bag.
