The night before destiny islands is attacked. Sora and Kairi are talking about leaving the island, to discover other worlds…
The beach was cool, the stars were bright, and the moon just accentuated kairi's already glowing face. The night seemed perfect, and all seemed right on the island, but of course things always seemed right when Kairi was around. But for some reason, even though they were so close to getting off this island and discovering so many other worlds…she seemed so distant.
Sora glanced at Kairi; her usually smiling face was clouded with doubt. They had been planning on leaving the island for a long time, but now that they were so close to leaving, Kairi was starting to think twice. But she had already been other places than their world, why wouldn't she had already been other places than their world, why wouldn't she want to go and try to find her home?
"I don't really care if we leave or stay," he somewhat lied, "as long as you are there next to me." He glanced quickly at Kairi. She smiled, but soon her smile faded back into her state of thoughtfulness.
"What do you think would happen, I mean, if we really did leave?" She said softly. "Do you think we could ever come back home?"
"Home?" Sora said somewhat confused, "this isn't your real home, dont you want to see your real home?"
"This is where I keep my best memories, and whenever you find a place where you can keep your memories, and cherish them, and always know that, that place will remind you of the best days of your life… then that is your home," answered Kairi.
"You really don't want to leave do you…?" Sora's dream of leaving seemed to be fading as quickly as the smile on Kairi's face.
"No, no, it's not that. I mean sometimes I really just feel like I don't belong here, but I just want to be able to come back someday. You know after visiting all the other worlds, I just want to be able to come home…" She started to smile again. "It makes me feel better just knowing that this place will always be here, I can always come home."
