Freddie's POV:
Things have been changing a lot with me and Sam. She picks on me, but she seems a lot less pissed off at me lately. It's all been different since we gave each other our first kiss, and for the better. But I was sure she wasn't thinking about me like I was her…
I walked up to my locker to find a note taped on the door, "FREDDIE" printed on the front. I raised my eye brows curiously and unfolded it:
Freddie,
I know I should have said this in person but,
I really like you. I'm pretty sure you already
know, but, what do you think? Interested?
signed,
you-know-who
So maybe Sam WAS thinking about me. My face broke out into a huge grin, I guess I'd better answer… *BRRRRING!* the bell went off. Crap. I bolted to math class.
Mr. Howard was going on and on about finding the hypotenuse of a triangle, which I already knew. I opened my notebook and ripped out half a page and began writing:
Hey Sam,
I was really hoping you felt the same way,
I couldn't stop thinking about you since
the fire escape. So, yes, I'm definitely
interested.
Freddie
I folded the note and put it in my pocket, then took Sam's note out and read it over and over again, folding and unfolding it. I ran my fingers down the creases and retraced the words a couple times until I heard the dismissal bell go off. I shot up, got a piece of tape from Mr. Howard's desk and let my joy and excitement float me over to Sam's locker. I taped the note to her door and went to go put my books away when I found someone waiting for me. It was Tina from my science class.
"h-hey Freddie!" she waved nervously, and, was she blushing?
"Oh, uh, hi Tina, what's going on?" I asked.
"Um," she started, "I just. I just wanted to… you know that note I gave you?"
"YOU gave me?!?" my gut sank. Tina gave me the note… and my note… was on SAM's locker. Oh, crap. I HAD TO GET THAT NOTE! I blew past Tina racing back to Sam's locker. Had to get the note, had to get the note, get the note, get the note, get the note…
SAM! She was at her locker, head down reading the note in her shaking hand. She gripped it hard, crumpling it in her grasp. She turned, and when she caught the sight of my pathetic form, her eyes lit up with rage. I froze, and then ran. She was right on my tail. We charged down the hall, skid past the locker bay, and scrambled around traveling students. I was so taken over with fright that I didn't realize when I missed the turn to take me out of the north wing. It was a dead end.
I whipped around and my eyes were caught in hers. They were on fire. Her fists were clenched tight, her shoulders were raised, and she stomped towards me, closing me in.
When she got close enough she gripped my wrists and pinned them to the wall. My heart was beating so fast I could hear it in my ears. I had never been this frightened of Sam in a long time. She was never this out of control, usually she knew what she was going to do to me, but this time she wasn't sure. Her eyes were scanning me back and forth like she was reading a book, her fists were shaking as they tightened her hold on me.
Then she made a move that sent me reeling. She pushed herself up on her toes, slamming me into a kiss. It was hard and aggressive, it was perfectly Sam. My heart beat even faster, my eyes almost popped out of my head. My bones turned to jelly. I was not ready for this much amazing. Then quickly, too quickly, she retreated.
*BAM* her fist plowed into my cheek and I was down. But that second hit was nothing compared to her first. Then she was off, running down the hall, leaving my in a puddle on the floor. I smirked, then winced at the pain, I think she liked the note.
