Always by Your Side
Sawada Tsunayoshi was about to let out a loud yawn, but he quickly stopped himself from doing so. He glanced at the small digital clock on the night-stand, and realized it was almost midnight. The orange haired beauty bundled up underneath the covers in front of him let out a tiny moan and the brunette immediately brought his attention back to her. For about seven hours now he had been sitting beside the sick Sasagawa Kyoko's bedside, keeping on watch over her. She had come down with a serious cold early that day and had to be restricted to nothing but bed rest until she finally get better. Although the doctor had told him that it was nothing serious, but Tsuna couldn't help but get worried over his dearest wife.
Tsuna really despise it. He couldn't see Kyoko's face in the darkness, but he could tell that she was suffering.
"… Kyoko…" he was so distressed over Kyoko's condition that he had even skipped lunch and dinner, which had made all his guardians worried over him.
The door behind him suddenly creaked open ever so slightly, allowing some lights to leak in and Tsuna looked over his shoulder to see Haru standing there. "Tsuna-san really should get some rest… you have been watching over Kyoko-chan the whole day." The brunette girl whispered as quietly as she could.
"Sorry…" Tsuna whispered back, shaking his head. "But I'm not tired… I'll stay b her side…"
"Tsuna-san… she… she will be better tomorrow. The doctor already said so after he had given her the medicines-" Haru tried to explain.
"I know. But…" he smiled gently as he turned his attention towards his wife before caressing her orange locks lovingly. "I believe that she will feel a lot better if I'm by her side. I'm really fine staying here with her tonight. Really."
Haru sighed. She knew that there was no way she could get Tsuna to change his mind once he's decided on something. "Fine… but… if Tsuna-san is tired, you can always ask Haru for help, okay?"
The Mafioso nodded and Haru closed the door. She sort of wished that Tsuna will have actually acted as seriously like that to her. She did have to admit that she was pretty impressed regarding Tsuna's devotion for Kyoko though. It almost made her feel a bit jealous.
Coughing with noticeable difficulty, Kyoko rolled over to her right side so that her face was now facing towards her husband. For a moment as Tsuna stared deeply at her, he almost wanted to reach out and brush a few stray of hairs out of her beautiful face. Of course, he kept his hands down and continued to sit there, wanting for the daybreak. Kyoko sneezed and Tsuna chuckled as he pulled a handkerchief from his pocket and helped her to gently rub her running nose. He muttered a soft 'I'm glad' under his breath and Kyoko give him a tiny smile.
"Thank you… for staying by my side, Tsu-kun."
"What are you talking about, Kyoko? You're always there for me, so as your husband, I should do the same thing. I'll never leave you; I'll always be by your side, forever and ever."
The End.
