"So long, Camp Wawanaka. I promise I will not miss you," Gwen smiled satisfied as she closed her suitcase. She lifted her bags and walked along the poorly-built wooden floors of the girls cabin. Outside she could smell the slightly-toxic-"so-called-natural"-like scent of the camp she had gotten used to since the competition had started.
Since the last challenge, where Gwen had won second, she had not been given the opprotunity to gather her belongings. She had gone to the party Owen had thrown and slept in late for the first time in weeks. Wait. Parties? Her? Geoff had really gotten to her... The production company had sent a boat for her to retrieve her items.
Unfortunately, much like Chris McClain, the production company was cheap. The boat had dropped her off and left her. They had said they would be back within an hour. The boat had to be used to film another reality TV show. It had been exactly an hour. Now all she had to do was wait for them to come back. May as well make the best of it, Gwen thought to herself. She was alone on the island. All the interns and cameras had been stripped from the island to return it to it's "envirementally friendly" state. All the other contestants had also gone home. Trent had wanted to go with Gwen, but the production company thought that would make things take longer.
She decided she would explore a little. It'll be like a trip down memory lane, she thought. She placed her suitcases on the porch of the cabin and began to walk around.
The first thing she saw was the Confessional. The place everyone would go to tell thier secrets so they could be broadcasted all over international television. She smiled. Half-hoping her mother had recorded the episodes to see what the other contestants had to say. Not that she cared, but it would be interesting to see thier opinions. Especailly Heather's...
Next, her walk took her to the Communal Washrooms. They place they had to keep clean in and depending on how Chris felt, would be either very clean or grotesquly uninhabitable. Gwen approached the door for no other reason than to see if she left anything inside. Locked. She rolled her eyes as her hand left the handle. She looked back to see if the boat had arrived.
Not yet.
She went on to find the stage. The stage where Chris had announced challenges. Showed them the amazing horror movie about the Escaped Crazy Physco Maniac with a Hook. The stage where Heather lost her hair. Gwen had to giggle. Where Courtney broke her arm. Her smile slowly faded as she remembered when Heather had read her diary. She turned in anger to go back to the porch.
Taking out her sketchpad and a pencil she began to draw. While drawing she had realized her sketches resembeled things about the camp. The random woman she had been drawing had Bridgette's hair, Izzy's eyes and Eva's body. The backround included something very similar to the messhall. The small animals in the backround looked exactly like the squirrels with human-like subconciously wanted to remember this place.
An old fog horn sounded and she looked up from her work. The boat had arrived. She put away her pencil and sketchpad and stood up. She grabbed the suitcases and walked down the Dock Of Shame. Somewhere she would not have to ever walk if she didn't come back here. She got on the small fishing-like boat and stayed at the back of the ship to watch the island get smaller and smaller. As the boat pulled away a slight smile appeared on Gwen's pale face. Despite Chris's torture and Chef's nasty food...the camp would always be her second home. The other contestants her second family.
