Spencer put the papers down on his desk. It had been 3 hours since the rest of his team went home. Reid decided to stay overtime and read over the files once more. Spencer sighed and picked up the next stack of papers. His heart dropped as he read the name on the file. Tobias Hankel.

Reid's mind flashed back to the hellish night. He remembered everything. The pain, being scared, dying but being brought back to life. Spencer closed his eyes and tried to think of something different. His eyes flickered open at a knock. He turned and saw his co-worker and the girl he was in love with, Agent Maxine Pruitt. She was standing in the doorway, looking uncertain of if she was welcomed or not.

"Spence, you okay?" She asked.

Spencer ran his hand through his hair as he looked at Maxine, suddenly nervous.

"Y-yeah I'm fine." He stuttered, "Just looking through some old cases."

Maxine walked over to Reid's desk. She sat down next to him and looked at the opened file.

"Spence, you shouldn't be looking at this one." Maxine sighed , "You know it could hurt you."

Agent Pruitt wasnt with the BAU at the time when Spencer was abducted by Tobias Hankel, but JJ had told her all about it.

"I know... But tonight is the anniversary for when I got abducted." Spencer whispered, "Three years."

"Three years, and nothing else has happened." Maxine soothed him, "and nothing will. Dont worry, Spencer, nothing will happen."

Reid nodded.

"How long are you gonna stay here?" Maxine asked.

"A little longer." Spencer answered , "Go ahead and go home.. Ill be fine."

Maxine looked reluctant to leave. Was it because she was afraid of what might happen to Spence?

After a moment of silence, Maxine spoke, "okay."

She grabbed her keys, and before heading out the door, she kissed Spencer's forehead.

"Nothing will happen." She whispered and then left. Spencer stared in awe after the beautiful girl. But something scared him. The tone of her voice when she said "nothing will happen". It sounded as if she was trying to reassure herself as much as Spencer.

Spencer shook away the thought and focused on the files. The room was silent except for the soft sweeping on the caretaker's broom. Reid liked the ghostly silence. It soothed him. Being alone while working helped him think better.

After about another hour, Reid gathered all of the files and put them away. He grabbed his phone and checked the time: 11:00 PM. Spencer sighed and grabbed his keys, then started walking towards the entrance. As he was walking, he could still hear the soft sweeping of the janitor's broom, but this time it was closer. Spencer thought nothing of it, just the normal task of the caretaker, cleaning the building. But, as he neared the front doors, he felt a sharp pain surge through his body. His vision grew black for a moment and he felt himself fall to the ground. When his vision restored, Reid saw a man in a janitor's suit standing over him.

"W-who are you?" He choked out. The man chuckled, "You don't recognize me?" He asked, "It's our anniversary tonight."

Realization filled Spencer's mind. He suddenly knew who this man was.

"Tobias?" He whispered.

The man chucked again, then nodded, "I am back
