Better Then Him

Summary: …Because to your young naïve brain, he's the best that there is. One-sided Lily/Scorpius.
He looks good in the sunlight. He always look good, you tell yourself secretly.
Everything is done secretly when it comes to him though, he's your secret little crush. He's the one that you want to be with, he's the one that you crave. It's a shame he doesn't know you exist though, your just some little redheaded fifth year to him. Nothing more, nothing less.
But he has a girlfriend. She's a redhead just like you. She's Head Girl and he's Head Boy, you find it so cliché that they're dating, after all your grandparents fell for each other while they were Head Boy and Girl. The horrible thing is that you actually like his girlfriend. She's sweet, kind and smart. She's part of the family. But you love to hate her because she's going out with him.
"I heard they broke up," your cousin says, breaking you out of your thoughts.
It takes you a moment to realise who he's talking about. But when you realise what he means, your insides do a flip and your mind starts to celebrate. "Really?" you ask, trying to sound indifferent. "I thought they were in it for the long run."
He shrugs and looks to where his sister is sitting. "Rose can do better then him anyway."
You smile and agree with Hugo because Rose Weasley can do better then Scorpius Malfoy. But you can't do better then him, because to your young naïve brain, he's the best that there is.

Don't ask me where this came from. I was writing my Rose/Scorpius story and I suddenly had this idea about Lily liking Scorpius, but he barley knows she's there.
